Politico reports:
Six states are asking to join the most high-profile legal challenge to the health care reform law, bringing the tally up to 26 states.
“It sends a strong message that more than half of the states consider the health care law unconstitutional and are willing to fight it in court,” said Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi. “I look forward to continuing to defend Florida’s families and businesses against this unconstitutional law and upholding the Constitution.”
Iowa, Ohio, Kansas, Wyoming, Wisconsin and Maine are asking a Florida judge for the right to join the lawsuit, which was also brought by the National Federation of Independent Business. Twenty states are already on the suit.
Judge Roger Vinson heard oral arguments in the case last month in Pensacola. A ruling is expected no sooner than late January.
