Obama lied, the economy died

Obama lied, the economy died

This may come as a shock to people, but Obama lies.  After all, he is a politician isn’t he?  Obama lies brazenly.  If the drive by media were not in the tank for Obama, he would get called on his lies much more often.

What is his latest, possibly most outrageous lie?

Obama claimed that in the last three decades, the middle class has lost ground.  Obama claimed that this is because the rich keep getting richer.  From 1979 to 2007, those in the top 1% did very well.

The middle class did not do too badly either, through 2007.   After tax income for middle class Americans from 1979 to 2007 rose 65%.  That’s not too bad.  The middle class is defined as those in the income break down that fall between the 21st and the 80th percentile.  Even those in the bottom 20% saw their income rise during the same period by 18%.

What changed in 2007 that made the middle class stop growing and opened the door for the middle class to start sliding backwards?   It was the Democratic takeover of Congress.

Since the Democrats have taken over Congress and later the White House, income in the middle class has fallen.  Unemployment rates among the middle class have risen considerably.

The Congressional Budget Office details the prosperity that occurred for the middle class from 1979 through 2007.  So what happened?

Economic disaster is what happens when you let liberals control government.  Obama wants us to forget our history and believe the middle class has been going down the tubes since the days of Ronald Reagan.

Memo to Obama.  Jimmy Carter tanked the economy.  Reagan brought it back.  Clinton would have tanked the economy but two years into his administration, America had the good sense to put Republicans in charge of the House of Representatives and Speaker Newt Gingrich and the House gave Clinton little choice about putting America’s house in order.

There are several things to be disturbed about with Obama’s blatant lies.  First, is the fact the thinks he can get away with those lies.  So much of the drive by media is no longer a free media but little more than a propaganda arm for the Democrat Party.  The Washington Post and New York Times spend more time defending the Obama regime and investigating critics than they do investigating the Obama regime.

CBS has been working on a story on the Fast and Furious operation that Attorney General Eric Holder has been stonewalling and earlier this month allegations were raised that CBS was muzzling its own reporter who was digging into the story.

There is one aspect of this that no one talks about.  Why do we not have a real adversarial media?  We have adversarial media when there is a Republican in the White House, but that is not what I mean by an adversarial media.   If you check down the list, we have an overwhelmingly liberal media.  The New York Times and Washington Post are both on the same sheet of music.  So are CBS, NBC, CNN, ABC, MSNBC and the rest.  Fox is not conservative, but merely fair and balanced.

Where is an adversarial press?  An adversarial press is a press that is adversarial against each other.  Half the media should be conservative.  Instead we have 90% of the media that is far left and only a few cases of media that are right of center.  The Washington Times is right of center.  The Drudge Report is given credit for being right of center.  Breitbart,  WND and Newsmax are right of center.   After that, you run out very quickly.

If we had a real adversarial media, Obama would not lie with impunity.   If we had a real adversarial media, scandals like Fast and Furious and the cover-up would not be mostly ignored.  If we had a real adversarial media, Obama probably never would have made it to the White House.

ACORN playing a behind-the-scenes role in Occupy protests
Posted by Staff

Fox News reports:
The former New York office for ACORN, the disbanded community activist group, is playing a key role in the self-proclaimed “leaderless” Occupy Wall Street movement, organizing “guerrilla” protest events and hiring door-to-door canvassers to collect money under the banner of various causes while spending it on protest-related activities, sources tell FoxNews.com.
The former director of New York ACORN, Jon Kest, and his top aides are now busy working at protest events for New York Communities for Change (NYCC). That organization was created in late 2009 when some ACORN offices disbanded and reorganized under new names after undercover video exposes prompted Congress to cut off federal funds.

Good News and Bad News

Quote P. J. O'Rourke:

"The good news is that, according to the Obama administration, the rich will pay for everything. The bad news is that, according to the Obama administration, you're rich."

OWS Irony

Take from the Brutally Honest Email
Oh the irony

The OWS crowd, big time believers in the redistribution of wealth, are upset that some amongst them are taking that belief to heart:

Occupy Wall Street protesters said yesterday that packs of brazen crooks within their ranks have been robbing their fellow demonstrators blind, making off with pricey cameras, phones and laptops -- and even a hefty bundle of donated cash and food.

“Stealing is our biggest problem at the moment,” said Nan Terrie, 18, a kitchen and legal-team volunteer from Fort Lauderdale.

“I had my Mac stolen -- that was like $5,500. Every night, something else is gone. Last night, our entire [kitchen] budget for the day was stolen, so the first thing I had to do was . . . get the message out to our supporters that we needed food!”

Crafty cat burglars sneaked into the makeshift kitchen at Zuccotti Park overnight and swiped as much as $2,500 in donated greenbacks from right under the noses of volunteers who’d fallen asleep after a long day whipping up meals for the hundreds of hungry protesters, the volunteers said.

“The worst thing is there’s people sleeping in the kitchen when they come, and they don’t even know about it! There are some really smart and sneaky thieves here,” Terrie said.

“I had umbrellas stolen, a fold-up bed I brought because my back is bad -- they took that, too!”

Security volunteer Harry Wyman, 22, of Brooklyn was furious about the thievery -- and vowed to get tough with the predatory perps.

“I’m not getting paid, but I’m not gonna stand for it. Why people got to come here and do stupid stuff? All it does is make people not wanna come here anymore,” Wyman fumed.

So those who believe in the theory of redistribution aren't too crazy about the application of that belief.

Ha!

Friggin' idiots.

T Shirt Slogan

I just saw this T Shirt Slogan and I am thinking it is closer to the truth than one would think at first glance:

“a million people attended Obama’s inauguration and only fourteen missed work”

Chevy Electric Car

Meet the Roberts electric car. Built in 1896, it gets a solid 40 miles to the charge — exactly the mileage Chevrolet advertises for the Volt — the much-touted $31,645 electric car General Motors CEO Dan Akerson called “not a step forward, but a leap forward.”

The executives at Chevrolet can rest easy for now. Since the Roberts was constructed in an age before Henry Ford’s mass production, the 115-year-old electric car is one of a kind.

But don’t let the car’s 115 years let you think it isn’t tough: It’s present-day owner, who prefers not to be named, told The Daily Caller it still runs like a charm, and has even completed the roughly 60-mile London to Brighton Vintage Car Race.

Mortgage Disaster

Never let liberals forget that the sub-prime mortgage disaster was Bill Clinton's fault. In 1995 President Clinton's changes to the Community Reinvestment Act enabled ACORN to run a politically correct extortion campaign against mortgage lenders, compelling them by force of law to make unsound (sub-prime) loans to poor minorities who never stood a hope of repaying them.

Great White Liberal Death Wish

Pick a fight with a liberal on:

RACE.
Rail against the Great White Liberal Death Wish. What exactly is so hateful and wrong about the white Judeo-Christian culture which created: the Sistine Chapel; the complete works of Shakespeare; the theory of relativity; the computer; the automobile; the Goldberg variations; the American Constitution? Right. So isn't it about time those self hating white liberals out there, who think we should feel guilty about our achievements, drop our cultural standards, and celebrate "the other," either kept quiet or put their money where their mouth is and moved to one of those places whose vibrancy they so admire. The Congo, maybe; or Somalia; or Turkmenistan.

Democrat: the Lawyers Party

Subject: The Lawyers Party…..

This is very interesting! I never thought about it this way.

The Lawyers' Party

By Bruce Walker

The Democratic Party has become the Lawyers Party.

Barack Obama is a lawyer. Michelle Obama is a lawyer.

Hillary Clinton is a lawyer. Bill Clinton is a lawyer.

Every Democrat presedential nominee since 1984 went to law school (although Gore did not graduate). Every Democrat vice presidential nominee since 1976, except for Lloyd Bentsen, went to law school.

Look at leaders of the Democrat Party in Congress: Harry Reid is a lawyer. Nancy Pelosi is a lawyer.

The Republican Party is different.

President Bush is a businessman. Former Vice President Cheney is a businessman.

Newt Gingrich was a history professor.

Tom Delay was an exterminator.

Dick Armey was an economist.

House Minority Leader Boehner was a plastic manufacturer.

The former Senate Majority Leader Bill First is a heart surgeon.

Who was the last Republican president who was a lawyer? Gerald Ford, who left office 31 years ago and who barely won the Republican nomination as a sitting president, running against Ronald Reagan in 1976. The Republican Party is made up of real people doing real work, who are often the targets of lawyers.

Lawyers seek to have new laws passed, they seek to win lawsuits, they press appellate courts to overturn precedent, and lawyers always parse language to favor their side. Confined to the narrow practice of law, that is fine. But it is an awful way to govern a great nation.

When politicians as lawyers begin to view some Americans as clients and other Americans as opposing parties, then the role of the legal system in our life becomes all-consuming.

Some Americans become adverse parties of our very government. We are not all litigants in some vast social class-action suit. We are citizens of a republic that promises us a great deal of freedom from laws, from courts, and from lawyers.

Today, we are drowning in laws; we are contorted by judicial decisions; we are driven to distraction by omnipresent lawyers in all parts of our once private lives. America has a place for laws and lawyers, but that place is modest and reasonable, not vast and unchecked.

Perhaps Americans will see that hope does not come from the mouths of lawyers but from personal dreams nourished by hard work. Perhaps Americans will embrace the truth that more lawyers with more power will only make our problems worse.

The United States has 5% of the worlds population and 66% of the worlds lawyers!

Tort (Legal) reform legislation has been introduced in congress several times in the last several years to limit punitive damages in ridiculous lawsuits such as spilling hot coffee on yourself and suing the establishment that sold it to you and also to limit punitive damages in huge medical malpractice lawsuits.

This legislation has continually been blocked from even being voted on by the Democrat Party. When you see that 97% of the political contributions from the American Trial Lawyers Association go to the Democrat Party, then you realize who is responsible for our medical and product costs being so high!

Queen Michelle Obama

Queen Michelle vacations on your dime
You heard it from Laura first! Michelle's June vacation in Africa cost taxpayers over $400,000--and that's just the price tag for airfare. Who knows what all the meals, security, and ground transportation will take the total to? According to official manifests, first daughters Malia and Sasha are considered "senior staff." Meanwhile, Obama tells Americans they're selfish if they don't want to send more of their money to the government.

Liberal Tea Party?

Judson Phillips

Not getting it.

The left does not understand the Tea Party.  Ignoring the fact they want to destroy us, they do want to understand us.   They believe if they can figure out our model, they can have a liberal “Tea Party.”  There is one leftist who has been pushing this idea.

Who is it?

Van Jones.

Ever since Van Jones left his White House job, he has been obsessed with launching a leftist version of the Tea Party. It is no great surprise that he has not been able to launch one.

Will Van Jones ever be able to figure it out?

Probably not.  After all, he is not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

See his video on the subject here.

Why is the Tea Party successful?

It is simple.  Unlike the left, the Tea Party is essentially a positive movement.   The Tea Party movement began with outrage over the out of control spending by the Obama/Pelosi/Reid axis of fiscal evil.   The motivation of the Americans who poured out into the streets was different.

While the left wants to tear down and destroy all that is good in America, and replace it with an ideology if evil, the Tea Party movement is based on love.  Real Americans love their country and their neighbors.   The Tea Party is not motivated by hatred as the left is.

The Tea Party movement’s secret is our people and our goals.  The people want to see America restored as the greatest country in the world.  The members of the Tea Party love America’s ideals.   We believe in life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

The way we treat our neighbors is perhaps the greatest example.  The police do not show up to arrest Tea Party members at our rallies.  At Tea Party rallies, we do not riot, nor do we destroy property.  In fact, at every rally I have been involved in, we have made it a point to leave the grounds cleaner than when we arrived.  Compare that to any number of liberal events, including Obama’s inauguration.

The Tea Party is a movement that has had unprecedented success and the left is frustrated, not only because we are so successful but because they have not been able to create a “liberal Tea Party.”

Now Van Jones talks about wanting to “steal our playbook.”

Well, Van, you don’t have to steal our playbook.  I’ll tell you what it is.

The secrets of the Tea Party playbook are we love America and we love our fellow Americans.

We see America as the great shinning city on the hill.  We see America as an inherently good place.   America is the nation that has done the most good for the most people than any other nation in the history of mankind.

The other part of our playbook is that Tea Party members love their neighbors as themselves.  (I wonder if Van Jones can figure out where that principle comes from?)   When you go to a Tea Party event, you do not see people trying to fight with anyone.  We want the best for our family, our friends and our neighbors.  And we are very willing to jump in and help them.  There is a reason why charitable giving in Red States far exceeds that in Blue States.   Tea Party members want to see everyone prosperous and happy.

The socialism that Van Jones pushes is just the opposite.  It wants to destroy this country and replace it with a model that has failed time and time again and instead of allowing everyone the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, his model wants to pull everyone down to the same level of misery.  His model wants to create dependency, which kills the opportunity for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

If Van Jones wants to create a Tea Party, he can do it.   It is very simple.  Just adopt our core beliefs.  Although the day he adopts those core beliefs is the day he will become a conservative.

Of course, when that happens, there will still be no liberal Tea Party.

Monday Night Football–NO MORE!

No Hank, no Monday Night Football,

ESPN, owned by far left leaning Disney struck back at Hank Williams today, taking his trademark, “Are you ready for some football?” song off fo the opening of Monday night football.

Why?  Williams dared to insult Disney darling Obama.

From the Daily Caller:

The name Hank Williams, Jr. isn’t usual associated with political insight and expert analysis of current events. But the “Are you ready for some football?” singer has some strong political views, and he shared them on “Fox & Friends” Monday morning. Among other things, he compared the president to Adolph Hitler.

Williams said Monday morning that a pivotal moment for him was the so-called golf summit in June between President Barack Obama and House Speaker John Boehner.

“You remember the golf game they had, ladies and gentlemen? Remember the golf game? That was one of the biggest political mistakes ever,” Williams said. “That turned a lot of people off. It just didn’t go over.”

“Come on, come on,” the country performer continued. “It would be like Hitler playing golf with Netanyahu, OK? Not hardly. In the country this shape it’s in, the shape this country is in, I mean, no, I don’t think so.”

Host Brian Kilmeade said he didn’t understand that analogy, but Williams insisted that others would.

“Well, I’m glad you don’t, brother, because a lot of people do,” he said. “They’re the enemy” – meaning Obama and Vice President Joe Biden.

Earlier this year, ESPN reprimanded Golf commentator Paul Azinger for an anti-Obama tweet.

From USA Today in August:

UPDATE: ESPN is coming down on Paul Azinger for mocking President Obama on Twitter. The golf analyst tweeted Thursday the commander in chief plays more golf than he does -- and that Azinger has created more jobs this month than Obama has.

Of course ESPN has no problem when far left leaning Kenny Mayne tweeted this jewel:

Of course since it is hate directed towards a conservative, nothing happened to Mayne.

As much as I love sports, I have just about had it with ESPN.  Until Hank Williams is brought back to sing the intro to MNF, I won’t watch it and I encourage everyone else to turn off MNF.

Hank Williams, Jr. is rumored to be thinking about running for the US Senate in Tennessee.  As a Tennessean, all I can say is, “Run Hank Run!”

Prayer for Oct 4th 2011

Prayer: Lord, thank you for the Ten Commandments and for Jesus Christ, who shows us the way. Help us to obey your word and to follow you and you alone, as we pray, "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one."* Amen.
