Media and the Obama Hypocrisy

When Barack Obama whines to the American people, it is a collection violation of the peoples’ rights against cruel and unusual punishments.

America could be given a choice. We could either listen to Obama or have a root canal without anesthetic.  That root canal looks like an attractive option.

The Obamas whine and the media dutifully reports it.  When the Obamas become hypocrites, the media dutifully doesn’t report it.

Now we have a glaring example of the Obamas hypocrisy and we are seeing the silence of the dutiful media.

What is it?

While Barack and Michelle Obama whine to America about so-called “income inequality,” they live like royalty on the backs of the American taxpayers.

Michelle Obama is taking her third vacation of the year.  This one is clumsily disguised as a “state visit” by Michelle Obama.  She’s taking her daughters and her mother and hitting mostly tourist sites.  Interestingly enough, who isn’t going?  The media.

That’s right, Obama’s praetorian guard, the media was given the boot. Their response is they aren’t covering the trip which is exactly what the Obamas wanted.

Some media is.  The UK media, which has never been under the Obama spell has been quit happy to report that the Obamas are staying in a suite that costs $8300 a night!  And Michelle Obama’s mother is pretty much acting like royalty and haranguing the staff.

A few nights in that hotel costs more than what most real Americans make in a year.  But does anyone think that inequality bothers the Obamas?  Remember Michelle Obama was never proud of her country until she could take luxury vacations with Americans picking up the tab.

But here is the question none of the media will dare ask.

If the Obamas are so concerned about “Income Inequality,” why don’t they start acting like it.  Economists tell us the true cost of something is not what we pay for it but what we give up in order to have it.  This is called “Opportunity cost.”

What has America given up in order to give egomanical, self absorbed, totally unfit woman and her children a vacation that probably costs well in excess of $100 million?

Assuming the money was going to be spent anyway, which with the Obama Regime, that is a certainty, the money could have gone to ten thousand full ride scholarships for in state students at public universities.

That is just one example.

What did Michelle Obama do to deserve being treated like a queen?

Not a damn thing.

Unfortunately while millions of real Americans suffer through the fifth year of the Great Obama Depression, an insufferable former lawyer gets to ride in the lap of luxury with the American taxpayer picking up the tab.

The next time the Obamas want to whine about income inequality, it would be nice if the media called them out on their double standards.  It would be great if the media would call them out for living like royalty.

But then again, the media is cheering for them, not us.

Thank You Ken Davis “Words”

From Kens blog ( www.kendavis.com )

Three Tips that Can Relieve Internet Troll Anxiety!

There was overwhelming response to my last post identifying Internet Trollsand identifying the pain they can inflict. Writing that post led me to a deeper analysis of the entire issue.  It’s really about the use of words.

There will always be trolls who purposely post hurtful words.  I will cover how to deal with them last.  For those who want to avoid their words being misunderstood and for those with thin skin like me who sometimes  misinterpret words…. Here are some helpful tips to keep in mind every time you read or write.

1. Know the weakness of written words.

Words are most powerful when connected to clarifying influences.

  • Voice inflection
  • Facial expression
  • Relationship

Once those influences are removed, the specific intent of words is weakened.   The lid flies open on a Pandora’s box filled with possibilities of misunderstanding and misinterpretation.

Let me give you an example.  The other day my wife said to me, “You’re an idiot!”  At the time she said it, she was laughing at a photo bomb I had created.   Her laughter, her smile, and our 45-year relationship left no doubt of the teasing, loving nature of her comment.

Now imagine that I had posted that same photo and someone I didn’t know commented.  Your an idiot!” - “Grow up!”  or some similar comment.  Without the clarifying influence of expression, inflection and relationship the door is wide open to misinterpret the comment.  The chance of misunderstanding is multiplied when dealing with…….

  • Issues of passion
  • Attempts at humor
  • The exchange of differing opinions

If you are aware of the weakness of words, strengthen your ability to be understood by using more words.   Example:  Although I probably would never leave the comment “You are an idiot,”  if I added these words, “That’s what I like about you!” it removes doubt from the intent of the comment.

2. Know the power of words.

Some words like idiot, stupid, and hate shouldn’t be a part of any response to a person or their ideas.  Always strive for civility.

If you disagree with an idea, ask a question that encourages discourse.  If you aren’t interested in having a conversation, posting your displeasure with the post is a form of trolling.  You will NEVER convince the other person with a few weak words that they are wrong.

Troll comment:  “What a stupid idea!”
Civil comment:  “Although I disagree, I am curious as to how you came to this conclusion?”
Very civil comment:  “Keep up the good work!”
Always safe comment:  No comment at all.

Work hard not to be a troll.  Unless you are willing to start a conversation, leave encouraging comments.  Think twice before you write to be sure it’s not a bite.

3. Here’s a final tip I was given to keep from being discouraged by trolls.

Assume the best.
Believe that the person who tries to better the caption you have put on a picture has good intentions in mind.  At worst they simply want to appear smarter or more clever that you.  Not pretty, but no harm done.   At best they are trying to expand on what you posted.  No harm done.

Shake off the worst.

Why is it that we can receive thousands of positive responses and still choose to obsess over one negative comment?  Notice it is a choice. Ducks have an amazing ability to shake all the water from their body with a single convulsive shake of their feathers.  When a troll posts intentionally discouraging comments on your site, choose to shake it off.

One person responded to my first installment on trolls, suggesting that we respond with loving kindness. If you have the time and maturity to do that, it is probably the best response.  I still have some room for growth here.  So for now the best response to intentional trolls for me is a good shake of the feathers and firm stroke of the DELETE key!

Feminist Writer on Abortion

Posted by Staff (Laura Ingrham website)

Lest there be any doubt, Amanda Marcotte really hates pro-lifers. In a two-part rant posted March 14 and 17 on Raw Story, the morally challenged feminist writer attacked pro-lifers as “consummate liars,” “anti-choice kooks” with “boring,” “half-baked nonsense” and “shit arguments.”

But Marcotte’s hate doesn’t stop at pro-lifers. It extends to the babies they want to protect.

“Either way, what she [the woman] wants trumps the non-existent desires of a mindless pre-person that is so small it can be removed in about two minutes during an outpatient procedure. Your cavities fight harder to stay in place.” Did she just compare an unborn child to a cavity?

Is the Obama admin freezing Fox News out of foreign policy?

From Laura Ingraham website:

The Obama administration faces a difficult problem. Diplomacy has failed despite their best efforts, and the ruthless winner-take-all attitude of their adversary now leaves them but two choices: break off relations or capitulate to their demands.

That adversary, of course, is Fox News — and President Barack Obama finally seems prepared to enforce a hard line against them. In the past week the White House has frozen the top-rated news network out of two key foreign policy interviews provided to other networks — one on Sunday with Secretary of State John Kerry, and one last week with National Security Adviser Susan Rice.

The story you won’t hear about today

  • Posted by Judson Phillips on March 3, 2014 at 6:39am in Tea Party Nation Forum

There is a major event today for millions of Americans.  You won’t hear about it in the national media and you will have to look hard for it in the local media.

Contrast that with another event that happens later in the year that you will hear about in the national media and the local media.

This is a story of media bias and a media agenda.

What is this story the media isn’t covering today?

For approximately four million Orthodox Christians in America, today is the beginning of Orthodox Lent.  Lent is the forty-day period that leads up to Easter.  The Eastern Orthodox celebrate Easter a little differently that the west does and handles Lent differently too.

Every year, the national as well as local new media go out of their way to do stories on the beginning and end of Ramadan.

The media goes out of their way to refer to Ramadan as the “Holy Month of Ramadan.”  The Eastern Orthodox refer to Lent as “Great and Holy Lent.”

The media, if they talk about Lent, just refer to it as Lent.

The best estimates right now are that there are roughly three million Muslims in America.   You would not believe it from the coverage they receive on the media.  If you looked at the media coverage, you would think that Islam was the second largest religion in America instead of one that is less than 1% of the population.

When the media deals with Islam, the word “Holy” gets thrown around a lot.  Their Koran is referred to as “Holy.”  Certain cities are referred to as “Holy.”  Their traditions are referred to as “Holy.”

During Orthodox Lent, Orthodox Christians fast from meat and dairy, attend extra services and engage in works of charity.  Does the media ever mention this?

    No.

But mention Ramadan in the media and you will hear all about their fasting and so-called works of charity.

The mass media never refers to the Vatican as the “Holy City.”  Nor are Christian monasteries, convents or other shrines referred to as “Holy.”

The problem in America is we have an elite media that is out of touch with the lives of real Americans.  Almost all of the major media operates out of either New York or Washington.

They have no clue what life is like for people who live in places like Tupelo Mississippi.  Nor do they care.

Fortunately for America, thanks to the Internet, America is no longer dependent on the biased big media.

For the Eastern Orthodox out there in America, may you have a happy and blessed Lent.

  • Shameful Displays

    Derek Hunter | Mar 02, 2014

In a week when Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., accused cancer patients and millions of upset and frightened Americans who’ve lost their health insurance of lying about their Obamacare horror stories, you’d think his hubris couldn’t be topped. But as disgusting and corrupt as the man the Democratic Party picked to lead them in the Senate is (and he is), the man that same party picked to lead the country takes the crown.

President Obama’s week should have ended with him being presidential. Russia had just sent forces into Ukraine, our allies in Europe were caught off-guard and the world looked to the United States for reassurance and leadership. Rather than offer it and stay on top of the situation, Barack Obama marched into the White House pressroom, read a statement that had been written for him and left the room.

Running away from questions like a 5-year-old boy running from the “cooties” might have been understandable had the president run into the Situation Room or to a waiting phone call from world leader. But rather than stay directly involved in a developing situation with major potential geopolitical implications and actually do the job of a president, Barack Obama…went to a party.

The Democratic National Committee held its winter meeting in Washington this week, and the president was scheduled to speak at it Friday. Were it just a Friday, the president giving a partisan speech to an audience of barking seals would not be new or news. But the president of the United States running off to speak to supporters and donors barely a half-hour after delivering a hastily-cobbled-together wet noodle of a statement warning the Russians they shouldn’t do what they’d already done hours earlier was a new low on the leadership meter.

That the president would read such a statement before running off to speak to donors shows either disinterest or ignorance of the seriousness of the situation. That his administration would describe the Russian invasion not as an “invasion,” rather as an “uncontested arrival” demonstrates this.

There is a silver lining, of sorts. We should be thankful the president put his Syrian crayon set away and didn’t draw any red lines in his statement. Again, when you set the bar for success so low you need a shovel to find it, you take your victories where you can.

While at his party, barely 30 minutes after “addressing” a world crisis, President Obama found time to read a joke. He told his adoring minions, “Well, it’s Friday, it’s after 5:00. So this is officially happy hour with the Democratic Party.”

    Hilarious, right?

That the president wouldn’t cancel or even delay a speech to the Democrats – a speech so political in nature even the Obama throne-sniffers at the Associated Press said it struck “a decidedly partisan tone”—says even more about his character than the fact he wrote two autobiographies before he’d accomplished anything.

President Obama loves himself, and he surrounds himself with people who love him almost as much. But a condition placed on that love appears to be a willingness to remove the word “no” from your vocabulary.

Did no one in President Obama’s inner circle even wonder about the optics of the leader of the free world running off to a political event in the early stages of a crisis? Did no one worry what this says about how he views himself and his job? He loves being president – he just doesn’t like the work that comes with the perks. But one of the perks is the president gets to decide what work to do and when.

We’ve seen this arrogance from him before – on Sept. 12, 2012. Four Americans, including an ambassador, had been murdered in a terrorist attack in Libya. Dig in, do the work of finding the perpetrators and making them pay? No. Not this president. For him, it meant a 10-minute delay in his flight to a fundraiser in Las Vegas – just long enough to read a prepared statement that included a lie about a YouTube video and to pretend to give a damn.

In both cases, the lapdog media did not question the president and did not report the disconnect and unseriousness of the man who spent enormous energy to campaign for the job then even more to avoid doing it. The mainstream media has earned its treats from this administration. And while “MilkBone journalism” may endear these reporters to the White House, it’s a disgrace to their profession.

Come to think of it, perhaps President Obama didn’t commit the most shameful display of hubris this week. After all, he only did what he’s been doing his whole life. On the other hand, those MilkBone journalists who cover for his failures have sold out their profession, the country, and now a good chunk of the world. And for what? Thirty pieces of kibble and a place at the foot of the throne? That they continue to call themselves journalists is perhaps the most shameful display of all.

    New Rhyming Dictionary

Since I can’t find my old rhyming dictionary I decided to go to Barnes and Noble to pick one up.   For such a large book store they sure don’t have a good variety of things, in fact they only had one.  I miss the days when there were smaller bookstores in all of the malls – they seemed to have a better selection.   But anyway I picked one up and. . .  how does this sound:

    Roses are red

    Daisy’s are yellow

    This coffee sucks

    It is much too mellow.
