Who's 'godless' now? Russia says it's U.S.

From Laura Ingrahams website

At the height of the Cold War, it was common for American conservatives to label the officially atheist Soviet Union a “godless nation.”

More than two decades on, history has come full circle, as the Kremlin and its allies in the Russian Orthodox Church hurl the same allegation at the West.

“Many Euro-Atlantic countries have moved away from their roots, including Christian values,” Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a recent keynote speech. “Policies are being pursued that place on the same level a multi-child family and a same-sex partnership, a faith in God and a belief in Satan. This is the path to degradation.”

Here are the numbers that refute Obama's happy talk

Published by: Herman Cain on Wednesday January 29th, 2014

As I told you earlier, President Obama wove quite a tale last night to make the state of the union sound strong. But as with most of his tales, he only tells you the parts that make him sound good. When you see the real facts, you can only come to one conclusion: Obama's policies aren't working.

So with that in mind, here are the real facts that give the lie to the nonsense he peddled last night, and really has been peddling for the past five years:

Inequality has widened: The recovery has been good to families earning more than $394,000 a year, but the other 99 percent of Americans have barely felt it. The richest 1 percent of American families have captured 95 percent of the income gains in the recovery period spanning 2009 to 2012, according to economists at the forefront of income inequality research, Thomas Piketty and Emmanuel Saez. So yes, the super-rich are doing better than everyone else. Because of Obama.

The job market still faces a gaping hole: From the job market's peak in early 2008 to its bottom in 2010, the U.S. economy lost 8.7 million jobs – about half of which were in construction and manufacturing. To this day, the United States still hasn't gained back all those jobs. The economy needs about 1.2 million jobs to get back to the 2008 level, and once population growth is added to the mix, the hole looks more like an abyss.

The poverty rate remains high: About 46.5 million Americans are living in poverty – equivalent to 15% of the entire U.S. population. The poverty rate has barely budged during Obama's presidency, marking the first time it has remained at or above 15 percent for three consecutive years since 1965. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, a total of 6.7 million Americans have entered poverty since 2008.

A record number of Americans are on food stamps: Amid the recession, the food stamp rolls surged, and as of 2013, 48 million Americans were receiving the benefits – the highest number since the program began in 1969.  A total of 19.4 million Americans have joined the food stamp program since Obama took office.

According to a January 2014 report by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are 7.8 million Americans working part-time that would like to work full-time.

The median income of American households dropped by $2,627 during President Obama's first term — and the number of people in poverty rose by about 6,667,000, according to a report from the U.S. Census Bureau.

In 2008, the year Obama was elected, real median household income in the United States was $53,644 according to the Census Bureau. In 2012, the last full year of Obama’s first term, median household income was $51,017. Thus, real median household income dropped $2,627—or 4.89 percent—from 2008 to 2012.

A recent report by the Kaiser Family Foundation found that family health care premiums have increased $3,671 under President Obama, despite his claim that ObamaCare would reduce premiums during his 2010 State of the Union address.

After five years of State of the Union promises to tackle the national debt, the current national debt has risen to more than $17.3 trillion. More than $6.6 trillion has been added to the national debt since President Obama took office. This is despite his declaration in the 2009 State of the Union address that he didn’t want to leave a “mountain of debt.”

Growth in the annual U.S. GDP, in chained 2009 dollars, has been the following under President Obama:

2009: Minus-2.8 percent

2010 : 2.5 percent

2011 : 1.8 percent

2012 : 2.8 percent

Those numbers are terrible.

Finally, the United States is no longer among the world's top 10 nations in terms of economic freedom, according to a newly published index. The world's largest economy slipped two notches into the 12th position in the 2014 Index of Economic Freedom spelled out by the Heritage Foundation and the Wall Street Journal, registering its seventh consecutive decline. When President Obama took office, the U.S. was ranked 6th. Now it is 12th.

Listen Up Republicans

Speaking for myself and most of my family I can say that unless the GOP runs someone in the future who is strong enough to stand up for Republican / Conservative values. . . . I will sit out the election.

Whether I vote for the Democrat or vote for someone who will give in to the Democrat the end result is exactly the same.

Instead of blaming the Tea Party or other outside forces you need to be looking in a mirror, only then will you see what is wrong with the Republican party.

For Some Reason

For some reason I am not tolerating winter very well this year.  I get up in the morning and it is under 10 degrees every day for – well a long time.    Once again I skipped church today because I just could not get motivated to leave the house and go out into the cold.

We did go out last night to see a play in Schenectady – Sherlock Holmes “The Final Adventure”.    Dana had given us the tickets for Christmas.   We thoroughly enjoyed it  (probably me more than Dot).

I had read the entire collection before but it has been many many years since reading them.   I should pull out that book and at least read that one over again and the one where Holmes comes back.

I like plays a lot as you don’t have to be distracted by loud music and a lot of  special effects and gun fights and chase scenes etc.

Obama 'threatens Fox News reporter's career'

Fox News anchor Greta Van Susteren charges that the Obama administration tried to press her to shut down a colleague’s reporting on the jihadist attack in Benghazi, Libya, that cost the lives of a U.S. ambassador and three other Americans.

Van Susteren asserted recently on her blog that the administration made an extensive effort to conceal what happened in Benghazi. She cited U.S. officials’ refusal to include the Fox News Channel in several Benghazi briefings along with a warning that her colleague’s career would be ruined if she persisted in her reporting on the attack.

The Fox News host recalled a “disturbing phone call from a good friend in the Obama administration” shortly after the Sept. 11, 2012, attack, which the administration initially blamed on a protest of an anti-Islam video.

Jennifer Griffin serves as a national security correspondent for Fox News

“In this call, my friend told me that my colleague Jennifer Griffin, who was aggressively reporting on Benghazi, was wrong and that, as a favor to me, my friend in the administration was telling me so that I could tell Jennifer so that she did not ruin her career,” Van Susteren wrote.

Van Susteren said that in her 20-plus years in the business, she had never received a call to try to shut down a colleague.

“Here is what I know: Jennifer is a class act … experienced … and a very responsible journalist. One of the absolute best in the business – no ax to grind, she just wants the facts.”

Van Susteren said she challenged her friend in the Obama administration to provide facts to back up her charge against Griffin.

“I told my friend before I go to Jennifer telling her she is wrong, I need proof she is wrong, strong proof and you need to be specific – what are you saying she is getting wrong?”

But she found quickly there were no facts to offer.

“We went around and around – including the statement again that this was just a call as a favor to Jennifer and me to save Jennifer’s career from reporting incorrect information. I got no proof. Zero. I smelled a rat. Favor to me? Hardly. My friend was trying to use me.”

Van Susteren said she felt badly that a friend “tried to use me for a dirty reason.”

“I knew then – and it is now confirmed by bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee – Jennifer was getting her facts right. I think it is really low for the administration to stoop this low,” Van Susteren wrote.

Blogger Ben Bullard wrote at Personal Liberty Digest that Van Susteren “isn’t a media figure who makes her living by testing the bounds of plausibility along the outermost fringes of conspiracy theory.”

“That’s why it’s hard not to sit up and take notice when she writes that someone inside the Obama administration threatened to end the career of a fellow reporter who was digging too deep into the Benghazi story,” he wrote.

As WND reported, evidence arose shortly after the attack that the Obama administration’s insistence that the deadly incident was a protest turned violent was false.

This week, WND reported an eyewitness to the attack confirmed the conclusion of the report released last Wednesday by the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence that the Obama administration misled the American public.

Speaking from Libya, Ahmed Salem, a young political activist opposed to radical Islamic terrorism, told WND that al-Qaida and other radical Islamic militia groups, including some from Egypt, launched a pre-planned, well-organized, heavily armed attack on the U.S. compound.

Voting with his feet

  • Posted by Judson Phillips on January 21, 2014 at 4:33am in Tea Party Nation Forum
  • Margaret Thatcher famously said, “The problem with socialism is that sooner or later you run out of other people’s money.”

Do you know why socialists run out of other people’s money?  Well there is their insatiable desire to spend other people’s money.  That is a desire that out strips the capacity of other people to earn money.

But then there is another factor.  At some point, those who have worked hard to earn a good living for themselves get tire of having their money taken and they vote with their feet.

Who is the latest to vote with his feet?
    From Breitbart:

In a radio interview last week, Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) made some disparaging comments about pro-life conservatives, stating they had “no place in the state of New York because that’s not who New Yorkers are.”

Those remarks drew the ire of conservative talk show host Sean Hannity, who on his Monday radio program declared he had enough and was abandoning his home state, where he hosts his widely syndicated radio show and his high-rated Fox News Channel television program.

“Now I want to tell you something – I was born and raised in New York,” Hannity said. “I want you to know that and I can’t wait to get out of here. I really can’t. I don’t want to pay their 10-percent state tax anymore. I live in the second-highest property taxed county in the entire country in Nassau County. I can’t wait to sell my house to somebody who wants it. I can’t wait to pay no state income tax down in Florida or Texas. I haven’t decided yet, but I’m leaning Florida because I like the water and I like to fish.”

“Gov. Cuomo, I’m going to leave and I’m taking all of my money with me – every single solitary penny,” he added. “And by the way governor, because I work here – there’s a whole bunch of people that work for me and benefit because I do two shows. And I guess maybe some of them will be out of work, governor. I’m sure you’ll take care of them.”

The only problem is that taxpayers outside of New York continue to subsidize New York through our Federal taxes.

Socialists always abuse the productive and the productive eventually decide to either quit producing or to go elsewhere.  It is happening within the United States.  The question is when are Americans going to start voting with their feet, moving to other nations and giving up their US citizenship over this?

    That day is coming.

    Conservatives not welcome in NY.

  • Posted by Judson Phillips on January 17, 2014 at 5:22pm in Tea Party Nation Forum
  • New York Governor  Andrew Cuomo has announced if you are a conservative, you are not welcome in New York State.

Cuomo said (as reported in the Times Union)

You have a schism within the Republican Party. … They’re searching to define their soul, that’s what’s going on. Is the Republican party in this state a moderate party or is it an extreme conservative party? That’s what they’re trying to figure out. It’s a mirror of what’s going on in Washington. The gridlock in Washington is less about Democrats and Republicans. It’s more about extreme Republicans versus moderate Republicans.

… You’re seeing that play out in New York. … The Republican Party candidates are running against the SAFE Act — it was voted for by moderate Republicans who run the Senate! Their problem is not me and the Democrats; their problem is themselves. Who are they? Are they these extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay? Is that who they are? Because if that’s who they are and they’re the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are.

Cuomo wants people in New York who mindlessly follow the liberal agenda.

But can you imagine the outrage and outcry the media would have if a Republican governor had said Liberals have no place in our state?

There would be demands the governor resign or be impeached.  There would be demands that he apologize and immediately agree to the left wing agenda to prove his penance.

A few conservative sites have picked up this story, but for the most part there has been absolute silence from the liberal media.

The truth of this story is simple.

The left will not tolerate any dissent from the liberal agenda. The truth about liberalism is that it is not a tolerant belief system.  It cannot accept anyone who disagrees with them.

Cuomo didn’t say where he thought all of those conservatives should go.  But there are a lot of red states that would welcome them with open arms while New York implodes.

First-grader told to stop talking about Bible

    By Todd Starnes , Todd's American Dispatch , Published January 14, 2014

The parents of a 6-year-old girl said their daughter was humiliated when a teacher interrupted the child’s one-minute speech and told her to sit down because she’s “not allowed to talk about the Bible in school,” attorneys for the California family allege.

The incident occurred Dec. 19 inside a first grade classroom at Helen Hunt-Jackson Elementary School in Temecula, Calif. The previous day the teacher instructed boys and girls to find something at home that represented a family Christmas tradition. They were supposed to bring the item to school and share the item in a classroom presentation.

How would you feel if Brynn was your daughter?

Brynn Williams decided to bring the Star of Bethlehem that adorned the top of her family’s Christmas tree. She also worked on a one minute presentation to explain that her family’s tradition is to remember the birth of Jesus at Christmas time.

“Our Christmas tradition is to put a star on top of our tree,” the little girl said. “The star is named the Star of Bethlehem. The three kings followed the star to find baby Jesus, the Savior of the world.”

Before the child could utter another word, the teacher intervened, according to Robert Tyler, the general counsel for Advocates for Faith & Freedom – the law firm representing the Williams family.

“Brynn’s teacher said, ‘Stop right there! Go take your seat,’” Tyler said. “Brynn was not allowed to finish her presentation by reciting the Bible verse, John 3:16.”

Tyler said the little girl was the only student in the class not allowed to finish her presentation.

“After Brynn took her seat, the teacher explained to Brynn in front of all the other students that she was not allowed to talk about the Bible or share its verses,” Tyler said.

Gina Williams learned about the incident after she picked her daughter up from school.

“She thought she had done something wrong,” she told me. “She thought she was in trouble. I told her she was not in trouble and I was proud of her. I tried to comfort her on the way home.”

The following day Williams met with the principal.

“The principal confirmed that Brynn’s teacher did the appropriate thing by stopping her mid-presentation and there are specific education codes that protect the school,” Williams said. “

The principal then asked Brynn, who had tears in her eyes, to come into her office and deliver the same presentation that was censored in the classroom. Afterwards, the principal stood by her decision.

“She confirmed there was no way Brynn could finish that presentation,” the disappointed mom told me. It was to protect the other students from being offended by Brynn’s presentation.”

The principal reportedly told her that Brynn could write about her beliefs in a journal but she was not allowed to share her beliefs aloud to any other student.

Tyler sent a letter to the school district demanding they apologize to Brynn and change their policies limiting religious liberty.

“The disapproval and hostility that Christian students have come to experience in our nation’s public schools has become epidemic,” he said, warning that should the school district ignore their concerns, they will file a lawsuit.

The school district sent me the following statement:

“The Temecula Valley Unified School District respects all students’ rights under the Constitution and takes very seriously any allegation of discrimination. Due to the fact that District officials are currently investigating the allegations, it would be inappropriate to provide further comment at this time.”

It’s not the first time the school district has found itself in hot water over religious liberty violations. Last October, a seventh grade student was publicly ridiculed by a teacher for reading the Bible. The classroom assignment had been to read a non-fiction book. The teacher told the student in front of the class that the Bible was fiction and refused to give him credit for the assignment.

Tyler said it’s clear that the district violated Brynn’s constitutional rights.

“Any act to suppress a student’s free speech, in this case censorship of Brynn’s presentation of her family traditions, has violated Brynn’s constitutional rights unless the school district can reasonably conclude that Brynn’s speech was going to materially and substantially disrupt the school’s work or discipline,” he wrote in a letter to the school district. “Here, the school district cannot reasonably come to that conclusion.”

So here’s the way I see it. The school district either:

    1. Made a gross mistake;
    2. Is ignorant of the Constitution;
    3. Is infested with radical secularists who like to bully Christian children:
    4. All of the above.

What happened inside that classroom is nothing short of un-American. I don’t know about you, but I’m getting tired of my tax dollars being used to pay the salaries of public school teachers who humiliate and bully Christian boys and girls.

How would you feel if Brynn was your daughter?

    Benghazi Bombshell

    From Sean Hannity daily e-mail.

It has been well over a year since the deadly terrorist attack in Benghazi on September 11, 2012 and we are just now learning (or confirming) crucial details. In a bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee report released this week it was revealed that the administration could have prevented the death of the four Americans who lost their lives that day, but clearly that didn't happen. I'd like to point out that this report came from the Senate, which is controlled by Democrats, meaning that this information would not have come out without Democratic support.  To me this indicates that even Senate Democrats are admitting that Benghazi is a major scandal for Barack Obama and for Hillary Clinton. I have a few of the highlights on Hannity.com, you should really check it out!  The bottom line is, this administration has a lot of explaining to do.

    While Obama Sleeps

(IBD) While Obama Sleeps, Hezbollah Upgrades Missile Threat To Israel

War On Terror: As we ease sanctions on Tehran and worry about Israeli condos on the West Bank, Iran and Syria are helping Hezbollah import strategic weapons systems into Lebanon, targeting our closest Mideast ally.

When Hezbollah launched a war against Israel in 2006, the Iranian-created terrorist group sent a message to both Israel and the U.S. to watch their strategic back.

Any move against Tehran's nuclear sites would be met by strikes against our Mideast interests not only from Iran, but from the territory of Lebanon, using that country as a launching pad and its people as human shields.

During that war, Hezbollah used weapons supplied by Iran and transported through Syria. Long-range rockets bombarded northern Israeli towns and villages, even reaching the Israeli port of Haifa. Since then, Hezbollah has replenished and expanded its stockpiles and is believed to have stored as many as 100,000 rockets and missiles of various types for a future offensive.

Through its creation of Hezbollah, Iran has transformed Lebanon into a satellite. Lebanese democracy is all but gone, with Hezbollah having obtained virtual veto power in the Lebanese Cabinet. Opposition to Syrian and Iranian influence has been dealt with by a campaign to decapitate the opposition's leadership.

    Church on Sunday

This past Sunday I got up and checked the outdoor thermometer and it was 11 degrees out; so I got my coffee and sat down at my computer.   I them went through the exercise of justifying reasons whey I could skip church.  It is too cold,  the roads may be bad or icy and also I am still having pain from my recent fall.  I went through that mental exercise for a couple hours but in the end I got dressed and went to church.   I am always glad I go and felt the inner warmth go through my body as I sat and prayed and watched and listened.

I urge everyone to always opt for church.  It will more peace and happiness then you can imagine.

NYT, Hillary & Obama’s War on Mom

  • Posted by Lloyd Marcus on January 2, 2014 at 12:04am

In a shameless glaring act of hypocrisy to rehabilitate Hillary Clinton’s presidential aspirations, the New York Times published an article doubling down on the Obama Administration’s lie that the attack on our consulate in Benghazi was due to an anti-Islam video.

Meanwhile, the NYT, Hillary and Obama have displayed a “Pat who” attitude towards Pat Smith, the mother of Sean Smith who was killed in the Benghazi attack on Hillary’s watch as Secretary of State.

What makes the attitudes of these superior, arrogant and pompous liberals so hard to stomach is that they falsely portray themselves as champions of women.

In reality, NYT, Hillary and Obama consider American lives acceptable collateral damage in furthering their socialist/progressive agenda; Obama's vowed fundamental transformation of America.

Thus, the Administration stonewalling by refusing to release facts about what led to the death of Pat Smith's son in Benghazi is par for the course – mere collateral damage.

Over a year ago, Hillary looked Pat Smith in the eye and lied to her face. So much for Hillary's commitment to the sisterhood. Obama promised Pat Smith answers regarding her son's death. Pat is still waiting for answers about what happened. But then, what else could you expect from a president recently awarded Liar of the Year?

Yes, liberals like the NYT, Hillary and Obama only give a rat's derriere about liberal women that they can exploit to further their liberal agenda. Cindy Sheehan was a liberal darling until she could no longer further their cause.  Then, Sheehan was thrown away on their pile of broken lives and dreams sacrificed for their agenda.

These people, NYT, Hillary and Obama are always railing about their phony bologna made-up GOP War on Women, all the while displaying a callous cold disregard for Pat Smith who has been simply seeking the truth about the greatest loss of her life. Thus, the NYT, Hillary and Obama are guilty of launching a war on a mom, Pat Smith.

Ms Smith, I am confident I speak for millions of Americans. We are deeply sorry for the loss of Sean, your brave son. Our prayers and support are with you. May God bless you and your family.

    Ann Coulter–The Anus Monologues

    December 31, 2013

Unable to comment on the "Duck Dynasty" controversy last week due to my hectic Kwanzaa schedule, I am able to sweep in at the end and comment on the commentary.
Anyone who utters the mind-numbingly obvious point that A&E's suspension of "Duck Dynasty" star Phil Robertson doesn't involve the First Amendment because a TV network is not the government, should be prohibited from ever talking in public again. You can bore your few remaining friends with laborious statements of the obvious, but stop wasting everyone else's time.
We know A&E is not the government. It may shock your tiny little pea brains, but free speech existed even before we had a Constitution. Free speech is generally considered a desirable goal even apart from its inclusion in the nation's founding document.
Suppose TV networks were capitulating to angry Muslims by suspending people for saying they opposed Sharia law? Would that prompt any of you pusillanimous hacks to finally take a position on the state of free speech in America?
Or would you demand that we stop the presses so you could roll out your little cliche about a television network not being the government? That fact has very little relevance to someone whose life has just been ruined. Hey! Don't worry about it -- at least it wasn't the government!
Instead of the government censoring speech, what we have is shock troops of liberal agitators demanding people's heads for the slightest divergence from Officially Approved Liberal Opinion.
Evidently, the word of God is on the banned list. As Robertson himself has said, all he did "was quote from the Scriptures, but they just didn't know it."
His offending remarks delivered to GQ magazine were:
"Everything is blurred on what's right and what's wrong. Sin becomes fine ... Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men. Don't be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers -- they won't inherit the kingdom of God. Don't deceive yourself. It's not right."

There's absolutely no question but that Robertson accurately summarized biblical strictures. But liberals can't grasp that God is not our imaginary friend, who says whatever we want Him to say, when we want Him to say it. (I promise you, except for venereal disease and eternal damnation, life would be a lot more fun if we were making it up as we went along.)
So they blamed Robertson for Holy Scripture. True, God created the universe and every living thing, but liberals think they can improve on His work.
Since Robertson's interview appeared, I haven't heard as much sophistical nonsense about the New Testament not condemning fornication since I was a teenager in the backseat of a car.
The book of Romans, called "the Cathedral of the Christian faith," provides the clearest explanation of the doctrines of sin. Here are a few catchy verses:
"The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven ... so that people are without excuse.
"Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error ...
"Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them."
Also, keep these citations in your back pocket for the next time some sweaty teenage boy tries to convince you Jesus didn't condemn fornication: 1 Corinthians 7:2; Galatians 5:19-20; Jude 1:7; 2 Corinthians 12:21; Romans 13:13; 1 Corinthians 6:13, 18; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5; and Matthew 5:32.
The lake of fire and burning sulfur (Revelation 21:8) may not sound like a day at the beach, but judging by their hysterical attack on Robertson, our new earthly gods are a lot less forgiving than the real God.
GLAAD instantly condemned Robertson's totally accurate rendition of Holy Scripture as "vile." With refreshing originality, CNN's Piers Morgan called Robertson a "vile bigot."
And it's not just "vile" to cite Holy Scripture. Evidently, it's also vile not to appreciate the joys of anal sex.
What seemed to set liberals off as much as Robertson's Biblical summaries was his statement that he doesn't find anal sex appealing. He said:
"It seems like, to me, a vagina -- as a man -- would be more desirable than a man's anus. That's just me. I'm just thinking: There's more there! She's got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I'm saying? But hey, sin: It's not logical, my man. It's just not logical."
So now, not only do we all have to support gay marriage, gay wedding cakes and gay soldiers -- but we also have to agree that anal sex sounds peachy! It's like being denounced for saying you prefer vanilla ice cream to chocolate.
To paraphrase an old Jewish line: This is not good for the gays.
Gays have gone from being the bullied to the bullies -- a modern American phenomenon detailed in my book "Guilty: Liberal Victims and Their Assault on America."
Yes, we know you used to be unfairly victimized. But being beaten up for being gay is simply not the same as having to endure hearing someone opine that anal sex isn't his cup of tea.
A&E didn't dare cross the gays, never anticipating that the Robertson family wouldn't back down -- and the rest of the country wouldn't, either. Even non-Christians can have only contempt for the network's utter cravenness in suspending Robertson for stating basic Christian doctrine.
The first time someone stands up to a bully and the sky doesn't fall, the tyranny is over. The gay mafia was out of control, drunk with power. This time, they got their wings clipped.
Christians, 1; Angry gays: minus 1,000. Cliche-spouting hack TV pundits: I recommend capital punishment.
