New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has announced if you are a conservative, you are not welcome in New York State.
Cuomo said (as reported in the Times Union)
You have a schism within the Republican Party. … They’re searching to define their soul, that’s what’s going on. Is the Republican party in this state a moderate party or is it an extreme conservative party? That’s what they’re trying to figure out. It’s a mirror of what’s going on in Washington. The gridlock in Washington is less about Democrats and Republicans. It’s more about extreme Republicans versus moderate Republicans.
… You’re seeing that play out in New York. … The Republican Party candidates are running against the SAFE Act — it was voted for by moderate Republicans who run the Senate! Their problem is not me and the Democrats; their problem is themselves. Who are they? Are they these extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay? Is that who they are? Because if that’s who they are and they’re the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are.
Cuomo wants people in New York who mindlessly follow the liberal agenda.
But can you imagine the outrage and outcry the media would have if a Republican governor had said Liberals have no place in our state?
There would be demands the governor resign or be impeached. There would be demands that he apologize and immediately agree to the left wing agenda to prove his penance.
A few conservative sites have picked up this story, but for the most part there has been absolute silence from the liberal media.
The truth of this story is simple.
The left will not tolerate any dissent from the liberal agenda. The truth about liberalism is that it is not a tolerant belief system. It cannot accept anyone who disagrees with them.
Cuomo didn’t say where he thought all of those conservatives should go. But there are a lot of red states that would welcome them with open arms while New York implodes.
