Allen West on the Marines Incident: 'Shut Your Mouth, War Is Hell'

“I have sat back and assessed the incident with the video of our Marines urinating on Taliban corpses. I do not recall any self-righteous indignation when our Delta snipers Shugart and Gordon had their bodies dragged through Mogadishu. Neither do I recall media outrage and condemnation of our Blackwater security contractors being killed, their bodies burned, and hung from a bridge in Fallujah.

“All these over-emotional pundits and armchair quarterbacks need to chill. Does anyone remember the two Soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division who were beheaded and gutted in Iraq?

“The Marines were wrong. Give them a maximum punishment under field grade level Article 15 (non-judicial punishment), place a General Officer level letter of reprimand in their personnel file, and have them in full dress uniform stand before their Battalion, each personally apologize to God, Country, and Corps videotaped and conclude by singing the full US Marine Corps Hymn without a teleprompter.

“As for everyone else, unless you have been shot at by the Taliban, shut your mouth, war is hell.”

Tim Tebow–An Inspiration

I believe in Tim Tebow

Reilly By Rick Reilly
ESPN.com
Tim Tebow and JacobTim Tebow FoundationTim Tebow with Jacob Rainey, one of the many people dealing with health problems Tebow hosted at Broncos games this season.

I've come to believe in Tim Tebow, but not for what he does on a football field, which is still three parts Dr. Jekyll and two parts Mr. Hyde.

No, I've come to believe in Tim Tebow for what he does off a football field, which is represent the best parts of us, the parts I want to be and so rarely am.

Who among us is this selfless?

Every week, Tebow picks out someone who is suffering, or who is dying, or who is injured. He flies these people and their families to the Broncos game, rents them a car, puts them up in a nice hotel, buys them dinner (usually at a Dave & Buster's), gets them and their families pregame passes, visits with them just before kickoff (!), gets them 30-yard-line tickets down low, visits with them after the game (sometimes for an hour), has them walk him to his car, and sends them off with a basket of gifts.

Home or road, win or lose, hero or goat.

Remember last week, when the world was pulling its hair out in the hour after Tebow had stunned the Pittsburgh Steelers with an 80-yard OT touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas in the playoffs? And Twitter was exploding with 9,420 tweets about Tebow per second? When an ESPN poll was naming him the most popular athlete in America?

Tebow was spending that hour talking to 16-year-old Bailey Knaub about her 73 surgeries so far and what TV shows she likes.

MORE FROM TIM TEBOW

For Tim Tebow's take on being named America's most popular athlete, click here.

"Here he'd just played the game of his life," recalls Bailey's mother, Kathy, of Loveland, Colo., "and the first thing he does after his press conference is come find Bailey and ask, 'Did you get anything to eat?' He acted like what he'd just done wasn't anything, like it was all about Bailey."

More than that, Tebow kept corralling people into the room for Bailey to meet. Hey, Demaryius, come in here a minute. Hey, Mr. Elway. Hey, Coach Fox.

Even though sometimes-fatal Wegener's granulomatosis has left Bailey with only one lung, the attention took her breath away.

"It was the best day of my life," she emailed. "It was a bright star among very gloomy and difficult days. Tim Tebow gave me the greatest gift I could ever imagine. He gave me the strength for the future. I know now that I can face any obstacle placed in front of me. Tim taught me to never give up because at the end of the day, today might seem bleak but it can't rain forever and tomorrow is a new day, with new promises."

I read that email to Tebow, and he was honestly floored.

"Why me? Why should I inspire her?" he said. "I just don't feel, I don't know, adequate. Really, hearing her story inspires me."

It's not just NFL defenses that get Tebowed. It's high school girls who don't know whether they'll ever go to a prom. It's adults who can hardly stand. It's kids who will die soon.

For the game at Buffalo, it was Charlottesville, Va., blue-chip high school QB Jacob Rainey, who lost his leg after a freak tackle in a scrimmage. Tebow threw three interceptions in that Buffalo game and the Broncos were crushed 40-14.

"He walked in and took a big sigh and said, 'Well, that didn't go as planned,'" Rainey remembers. "Where I'm from, people wonder how sincere and genuine he is. But I think he's the most genuine person I've ever met."

There's not an ounce of artifice or phoniness or Hollywood in this kid Tebow, and I've looked everywhere for it.

Take 9-year-old Zac Taylor, a child who lives in constant pain. Immediately after Tebow shocked the Chicago Bears with a 13-10 comeback win, Tebow spent an hour with Zac and his family. At one point, Zac, who has 10 doctors, asked Tebow whether he has a secret prayer for hospital visits. Tebow whispered it in his ear. And because Tebow still needed to be checked out by the Broncos' team doctor, he took Zac in with him, but only after they had whispered it together.

And it's not always kids. Tom Driscoll, a 55-year-old who is dying of brain cancer at a hospice in Denver, was Tebow's guest for the Cincinnati game. "The doctors took some of my brain," Driscoll says, "so my short-term memory is kind of shot. But that day I'll never forget. Tim is such a good man."

This whole thing makes no football sense, of course. Most NFL players hardly talk to teammates before a game, much less visit with the sick and dying.

Isn't that a huge distraction?

Tim Tebow with Zac

Stephanie Taylor Not everything Tim Tebow does on one knee is controversial. Ask Zac Taylor.

"Just the opposite," Tebow says. "It's by far the best thing I do to get myself ready. Here you are, about to play a game that the world says is the most important thing in the world. Win and they praise you. Lose and they crush you. And here I have a chance to talk to the coolest, most courageous people. It puts it all into perspective. The game doesn't really matter. I mean, I'll give 100 percent of my heart to win it, but in the end, the thing I most want to do is not win championships or make a lot of money, it's to invest in people's lives, to make a difference."

So that's it. I've given up giving up on him. I'm a 100 percent believer. Not in his arm. Not in his skills. I believe in his heart, his there-will-definitely-be-a-pony-under-the-tree optimism, the way his love pours into people, right up to their eyeballs, until they believe they can master the hopeless comeback, too.

Remember the QB who lost his leg, Jacob Rainey? He got his prosthetic leg a few weeks ago, and he wants to play high school football next season. Yes, tackle football. He'd be the first to do that on an above-the-knee amputation.

Hmmm. Wonder where he got that crazy idea?

"Tim told me to keep fighting, no matter what," Rainey says. "I am."

Cranky Obama didn't want to take pictures with troops in Iraq

After the talk, out of earshot from the soldiers and diplomats, he starts to complain. He starts to act very un-Obamalike, according to a U.S. embassy official who helped organize the trip in Baghdad.

He’s asked to go out to take a few more pictures with soldiers and embassy staffers. He’s asked to sign copies of his book. “He didn’t want to take pictures with any more soldiers; he was complaining about it,” a State Department official tells me.

Liberal Idiocy!

Judson Phillips

Your ID please

If you are in Illinois and your drain stops up, you have a problem.  Actually, if your drain stops up anywhere, you have a problem.  But in Illinois your problems are worse.   And those problems say a lot about the priorities and idiocy of the left.

What is going on?

In Illinois, today if you need to by drain cleaner or other caustic substances, you must show a government issued ID and you will be entered into a database.

The impetus for the law was attacks on two women where acid was poured on them and they were badly scarred.  Chicago Democrat Representative Jack Franks pushed this measure and the bill sailed through the Democrat controlled state legislature.

As typical of Democrats everywhere, when something bad happens, instead of wanting to punish wrong doers, Democrats want to punish and harass the great mass of law-abiding citizens.  Two people were attacked out of a city of 2.7 million and now if you need to get something to unplug your drain not only do you have to show a photo ID but you must also end up on a government database.  What is wrong with this picture?

While Democrats think it is perfectly necessary to inconvenience law abiding people by forcing them to produce a photo ID to buy drain cleaner, they still resist all efforts to require a photo ID to vote.

Why?

Well, it certainly says something about their priorities.

Stealing elections is important to the Democrats.  Otherwise, in many elections, they would lose!

In Colorado, the Attorney General discovered almost 12,000 illegal aliens registered to vote.  In the 2010 election, at least 5,000 of them did.   In December 2011, four Democrat Party officials from Troy New York entered guilty pleas to voter fraud.  In Tunica County Mississippi, a Democrat official was sentenced to five years in prison for voter fraud.  In the last two years, ACORN itself and former ACORN officials were convicted in Nevada for voter fraud.  ACORN submitted as many as 60,000 fraudulent voter registrations.    They even registered the entire starting line up of the Dallas Cowboys as voters in Nevada.

Why?

They want to steal elections.

In 2006, George Bush extended the Voting Rights act for 25 years.  This bill only covers southern states with a history of disenfranchising minorities.  The original bill was passed almost 50 years ago and that history is long since dead.

We need to revise the Voting Rights Act to focus on eliminating the kind of voter fraud that the Party of Treason specializes in.   Neither Tennessee nor Texas need to be under the scope of this law.  Illinois, Nevada and Wisconsin, with their history of voter fraud do.

We stand on the edge of a conservative revolution.  Simply putting conservatives into office is not enough.  We must make certain that we eliminate the ability of the left to engage in voter fraud.

Alan Colmes vile remarks only a continuation of liberal practices

Jack Kemp

Alan Colmes vile remarks only a continuation of liberal practices

Jack E. Kemp

So when Alan Colmes, a noted liberal commentator, made those vile remarks on the air about the Santorum family wanting their children to play with the brother who died two hours after childbirth, was he continuing a pattern of liberal practices? Yes. Apparently taking one’s dead child home and holding a funeral mass and hugging it is considered “weird” for Alan Colmes – and “ghoulish” for the New York Times. http://www.nytimes.com/2005/05/22/magazine/22SANTORUM.html?ei=5088&...  The family held a Catholic service at home, as “American Infidel” has pointed out. Apparently Alan Colmes is now an expert on how people are supposed to react when a loved one dies – and as if that has something to do with the 2012 Presidential campaign.

On a personal note, when my dad died in 2003, I went to the hospice that I had taken him to earlier in the day – and I kissed his forehead that night after he was gone. I have met a man in Florida who took care of a wife for twelve years – and when she died, he wanted to go drive to the airport to buy a ticket back to New York, even though it is something he could have bought it on the phone or perhaps the internet. It would not enter my mind to judge his behavior.

But let’s return to Alan Colmes. Where did he get political values concerning commenting on a politician’s private family issues? Let’s take a walk down memory lane.

When Sen. Paul Wellstone died in a plane crash in 2002, there was a memorial service in which the invited Republican guest Sen. Trent Lott was booed as he entered to pay his respects to a fellow U.S. Senator. Also the state’s Governor at that time – and his wife – the Jesse Ventura family, were booed. Mrs. Ventura later started to cry and her husband escorted her home. The most shocking part of this – to me – was Sen. Wellstone’s son yelling about the upcoming election for his late father’s seat, yelling, “We are going to WIN!” He looked like a drunk at an NFL game played in New Jersey or Philadelphia. Minnesotans were repulsed and showed it at the polls.

In the 2004 Presidential debate between John Kerry and Pres. Bush, Kerry made a snide remark about Dick Cheney’s daughter being a lesbian, as if that had anything to do with national issues. http://cnsnews.com/node/29800 It was reported that college students audibly gasped at the crudeness of the remark – mostly liberal college students. This had been preceded by Mrs. Teresa Kerry saying that Mrs. Laura Bush didn’t have “a real job” because she was raising children without having work outside the home. I recall a woman with four children calling into a talk show in the Northeast after the election totally outraged by that condescending remark. My own personal reaction was, “Gee, when my mother held my forehead late some night when I was a small child retching into the toilet, I didn’t know she wasn’t doing a real job. But I think Teresa was wrong about that.”

During the confirmation hearings for Condoleeza Rice for the office of Secretary of State in 2007, Sen. Barbara Boxer remarked that Dr. Rice was not qualified because she had never been a mother, i.e., had no children who would “pay a price” in the military for the U.S. going to war. http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/Articles/Boxers%20Outrageous%20A... Mrs. Boxer – yes, I know how hard she worked for that “Senator” title -  went national insulting every person who had not been a mother (or a father), by extension, as being uncapable of caring about the future of the United States. Sen. Boxer never made such charges against Attorney General Janet Reno nor Supreme Court Justices Sotomayor and Kagan – but they are Democrats.

In an April 2008 speech in North Carolina, Barack Obama did a middle school boy’s trick supposedly scratching his face – as he flipped Clinton the bird. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zhkq11UExcw  Obama did it again to John McCain here in the Presidential campaign.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZWW0c5yDCM&feature=related

These are the role models that Alan Colmes had for what is acceptable behavior among liberals. No wonder he just “learned” from them. You can see exactly what he said on national television here.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2012/01/02/alan_colmes_mocks... I am sure, judging by his demeanor, that Alan Colmes believes he did nothing wrong. He apologized because it was forced on him – as a resignation or firing may be forced on him very soon. Frankly, who among us would have thought we’d see such vileness on a national television network?

At the 1992 Democratic National Convention, Al Gore talked about his son being in a automobile accident, how he cradled the boy in his arms. Four years later at the Convention, he would talk about his sister’s death from cancer.  http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1P2-799438.html    He did so without any fear that conservative commentators would call him “weird” or the New York Times calling him “ghoulish.”

Judson Philips said he couldn’t figure these liberals out. I can’t really either, but my best guess is that they consider people across the political aisle as vermin – untermenchen, subhuman, as the Nazis called non-Aryans. It is just that nowadays they no longer feel ashamed to say it in the open. If one is raised to think that there is no one or no thing  higher than oneself, than one begins to think one is a God. Look at Colmes smug face in the video: here is clearly a man at peace with his religious values – because he worships himself.

Obama (Liberal) Lie of the Day

Lie of the Day

If there is anyone who has set an example about making sure that we reduce the influence of lobbyists and of corporate and outside special interests on campaigns it is President Obama.

- DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, apparently forgetting about Obama taking more money from Wall Street than any politician in history.

How a Stimulus Package Works

     THE $100 Bill

It's a slow day in the small town of Salem, NH and the streets are deserted. Times are tough, everybody is in debt, and everybody is living on credit.
A tourist visiting the area drives through town, stops at the motel, and lays a $100 bill on the desk saying he wants to inspect the rooms upstairs to pick one for the night.
As soon as he walks upstairs, the motel owner grabs the bill and runs next door to pay his debt to the butcher.
(Stay with this.....and pay attention)
The butcher takes the $100 and runs down the street to retire his debt to the pig farmer.
The pig farmer takes the $100 and heads off to pay his bill to his supplier, the Co-op.
The guy at the Co-op takes the $100 and runs to pay his debt to the local prostitute, who has also been facing hard times and has had to offer her "services" on credit.
The hooker rushes to the hotel and pays off her room bill with the hotel Owner.
(Almost done...keep reading)

The hotel proprietor then places the $100 back on the counter so the traveler will not suspect anything.
At that moment the traveler comes down the stairs, states that the rooms are not satisfactory, picks up the $100 bill and leaves.

1.   No one produced anything.

2.  No one earned anything.

3.  However, the whole town now thinks that they are out of debt

and there is a false atmosphere of optimism and glee.
And that, my friends, is how a "stimulus package" works!
