Michele Bachmann vs. Hussein Obama

We are constantly told by the drive by media how brilliant Barack Obama is.  We are reminded he was a Constitutional Law Professor (he was not).  We are reminded that he was the Editor of the Harvard Law Review.   There is another lawyer in the race.  Someone who is brilliant, even though the drive by media will not talk about it.

Who is it and how do they compare to Barack Obama?

It is Michele Bachmann.

While the drive by media wants to try and mock Bachmann, she has a record that is much more substantial than that of Barack Obama.

From Real Clear Politics:

Michele Bachmann may come across as a "flake" to some members of the media, but that's not how her classmates at the O.W. Coburn School of Law at Oral Roberts University viewed her. Besides having a squeaky-clean reputation, Bachman is remembered by several of her classmates as being among the most studious in her class.

On the campaign trail, Bachmann often refers to her five years as a tax lawyer as a way to bolster her credibility on tax policy. Although details about that stretch of her career are hard to come by, her legal education offers a glimpse into her formative years.

"I was always sitting in the back row, and she was always sitting in the front row," recalled Mark W. Stewart, who is now a Toronto-based attorney. "She was keen and sincere and not much different than she is now," he added. "She was very prepared in class."

Another classmate, Rich Gradel, a year ahead of Bachmann at the Tulsa-based law school, said Bachmann and her husband, Marcus, had very good reputations and were regarded as "really nice folks."

"She was a very good student and was considered really intelligent," Gradel, a longtime Republican Party activist, said of the Minnesota congresswoman. "She had a reputation for just being sharp," he said, adding, "You have to have pretty good grades to be admitted to William & Mary from a place like Oral Roberts, which was a very new law school at the time."

After graduating from law school in 1986, Bachmann went on to earn a master of laws degree, an LL.M. in tax law, from the College of William & Mary, a well-regarded public university in Williamsburg, Va., in 1988.

Compare that to Barack Obama.  What were Obama’s grades in Law School?  Who knows?  He’s never released them.  How about Columbia where he did his undergraduate work or Occidental College?  He’s never released those either.  Where are the classmates to run out and say how smart Obama was?  If there have been any of those interviews, somehow we have missed them.

National Libertarian Party President Wayne Root was at Columbia when Obama was there.  He does not remember Obama at Columbia.  In fact, no one has come forward to say they even remember him there.

Obama was a self admitted “poor student.”  Donald Trump, in his flirtation with running for President, said Obama was not even qualified for the Ivy League School for which he was admitted.  There have been a lot of questions about who pulled the strings to get Obama admitted to Harvard and how he even paid for Law School.

Michele Bachmann on the other hand was an outstanding student.   She went from Oral Roberts University Law School to the graduate program at William and Mary and then spent five years as a tax attorney.

When someone is the editor of the Harvard Law Review, they always become a clerk for a federal appellate judge before going on to clerk at the Supreme Court.

Why did Obama not go that route?

Almost three years after Obama was elected, we still know almost nothing about his background.  Michele Bachmann’s background is well known and the more we find out about her, the more cause we have to like her.

Oh, and did we mention, unlike Obama, she is a patriot who loves her country?
