The Bloody Company Hollywood Keeps

  • Michelle Malkin

Bleeding-heart liberal Robert Redford is already the subject of early Oscar buzz. His much-hyped new film glamorizing the lives of Weather Underground domestic terrorists, "The Company You Keep," will be released in the U.S. next week. But peace-loving moviegoers should save their money and take a stand.

Hollywood's romanticizing of murderous radicals is an affront to decency. Redford and Company's rose-colored hagiography of bloodstained killers defiles the memory of all those victimized by leftwing militants on American soil.

Tinseltown cheerleaders can't stop gushing about Redford's paean to gun-toting progressives, of course. Variety called the flick an "unabashedly heartfelt but competent tribute to 1960s idealism." The entertainment daily effused: "There is something undeniably compelling, perhaps even romantic, about America's '60s radicals and the compromises they did or didn't make." One of the film executives promoting the Weather Underground movie slavered: "This is an edge-of-your-seat thriller about real Americans who stood for their beliefs, thinking they were patriots and defending their country's ideals against their government."

Compelling? Romantic? Real Americans? Patriots? The movie plot centers on a 1970s Michigan bank robbery perpetrated by fictional Weather Underground members Sharon Solarz (portrayed by bigwig Democratic activist Susan Sarandon) and Jim Grant (played by Redford). The group shoots and kills one off-duty police officer working as a bank security guard. Grant goes on the lam and assumes a fake identity; decades later, a reporter launches an investigation into his role in the crime. The movie drums up "unabashedly heartfelt" sympathy for Grant as he works to exonerate himself.

Moviegoers would be better served by educating themselves about the real-life bank robbery and murder on which the movie is loosely based. In 1981, rich-kid Weathermen ideologues and lovers Kathy Boudin and David Gilbert joined forces with Black Liberation Army thugs and other ragtag commie revolutionaries to hold up an armored Brink's vehicle in Nyack, N.Y. Their booty: $1.6 million to fund their violent activities. Before taking up her assignment as the getaway vehicle driver, Boudin dropped off her toddler son, Chesa Boudin, at a babysitter's house.

Two of the holdup victims gunned down in the botched Brink's robbery were police officers. One was a private security guard. All three were veterans from working-class backgrounds. Their names: Waverly Brown, Edward O'Grady and Peter Paige.

Boudin and Gilbert were convicted and sent to prison. Prior to her arrest in Nyack, she had been an 11-year fugitive from justice after an accidental homemade bomb explosion at her New York City townhouse resulted in the death of three people. At the time of her arrest in Nyack, Boudin gave police one of many false identities she had used to evade the law.

Boudin was paroled in 2003 after convincing parole board members that she acted nobly out of "white guilt" to protest racism against blacks. Never mind that one of the officers killed, Waverly Brown, was black.

While Redford glorifies his fictional Weather Underground murderers as "patriots," he ignores the patriotic legacy of the victims of Weather Underground violence. And while Redford lionizes the Weather Underground zealots as compassionate parents, where are his passion and compassion for the children of the Weather Underground victims?

Brown served in the Air Force after the Korean War and had two grown daughters and a teenage son when he died in the brutal shootout. O'Grady, who served in the Marines and did two tours of duty in Vietnam, left behind a wife and three children -- 6, 2 and 6 months old. Paige, a Navy veteran, also left behind a wife and three kids -- 19, 16 and 9.

The sons and daughters of those gunned down by Weather Underground killers have lived in obscurity. Meanwhile, as I first reported more than a decade ago, Chesa Boudin has lived a pampered life surrounded by tenured academics and celebrity friends. His adoptive parents? The infamous pals of Barack Obama, Weathermen organizers Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn.

Refresher course: Dohrn declared war on "AmeriKKKa," helped stage the "Days of Rage" in Chicago, when Weathermen blew up a memorial statue to police officers and rioted violently, leaving 75 policemen wounded and one permanently injured in a wheelchair, and then spent years as a fugitive from justice before settling into a comfy post as director of the Children and Family Justice Center at Northwestern University.

Ayers remains in the limelight after celebrating the Weathermen bombing the Pentagon and flitting from campuses to socialist regimes and back preaching education as the "motor force for revolution."

Chesa Boudin attended Yale, won a prestigious Rhodes scholarship, shilled for Hugo Chavez, wrote books and keeps a busy speaking schedule. He still stands by the Weathermen's revolutionary agenda: "My parents were all dedicated to fighting U.S. imperialism around the world. I'm dedicated to the same thing."

Cinematically and metaphorically, Redford manufactures the same stance that unrepentant Weather Underground criminals and apologists still hold of themselves today: Not guilty.

  • Obama Spends $350M on Sexual Indoctrination Classes

While the White House says sequestration has eliminated funds for children touring the White House, President Obama has no problem spending $350 million federal tax dollars for sexual indoctrination programs starting in kindergarten for those same children.

This is not your grandmother’s sex education about how things work and what can go “wrong.” In fact, the exact opposite is the essence of the Personal Responsibility Education Program (PREP): Obamacare funnels $75 million annually into PREP, which must be used exclusively for Planned Parenthood-style “comprehensive” sex ed programs where no type of sex is wrong and the only sexual behavior PP considers “unsafe” is becoming pregnant.

More than one-fourth of the funds ‒ $20 million ‒ has been awarded to a coalition of six Planned Parenthood affiliates, operating under the name Northwest Coalition for Adolescent Health, to implement HHS’s TOP program across Montana, Oregon, Idaho, Washington, and Alaska at over 50 sites. In Oregon schools, Planned Parenthood is paying children cash incentives to participate.

PP is funded with our tax dollars to market sex to our children in our schools under the guise of sex education, anti-bullying, diversity, and tolerance. Once sexualized, those children then become PP sex customers for contraceptives, STD testing, and abortion.

    Liberal War On Christians Continues

War on Faith?: Alabama Elementary School Bans the Word Easter

The war on Easter has begun! The principal of Heritage Elementary School in Madison, Alabama has banned the use of the word Easter in the school saying that it infringes on the rights of students.

Lydia Davenport explained the move, saying, “Kids love the bunny and we just try to make sure that we don’t say the ‘Easter Bunny’ so that we don’t infringe on the rights of others, because people relate the Easter bunny to religion.”

Gretchen Carlson asked, “Have we just gotten so deep into this political correctness that now we just can’t take the religion as it is, celebrate it, and move on?!”

Steve Doocy cracked, “I feel sorry for those kids though because they can’t say the E-word. Well, what if the teacher wants to talk about that big storm that’s moving up? You know … the Nor’ ——?”

The Sequester from the Party of Treason.

  • Posted by Judson Phillips on March 24, 2013 at 2:20pm in Tea Party Nation Forum
  • Calling the Democrats the Party of Treason is a pretty good idea.  Seriously can anyone remember the last time they did something that was actually a benefit to America and to real Americans?

Now that Obama’s sequester has kicked in, the White House is closed for tours, the military is being gutted and air traffic control towers are being closed.

So you would think we are totally out of money, right?

    Wrong!

    From Ynetnews.com:

The United States has quietly unblocked almost $500 million in aid to the Palestinian Authority, which had been frozen by Congress for months, a top US official said Friday.

The news that the funds had finally been freed up came after US President Barack Obama met top Israeli and Palestinian leaders in a landmark visit to Israel and the West Bank earlier this week.

"To date, we have moved $295.7 million in fiscal year 2012 money… and $200 million in fiscal year 2013 assistance," State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland told reporters.

The Obama administration also notified Congress in late February that it was seeking a further $200 million to fund US Agency for International Development (USAID) programs for the Palestinians, she said.

The first sum comprises some $195.7 million, allocated under the 2012 fiscal year budget for USAID economic, development and humanitarian assistance, as well as a further $100 million earmarked specifically for narcotics control.

The second sum of $200 million unblocked and available to the Palestinian Authority will come under the 2013 budget and be spent for direct budget support.

The Palestinian Authority is facing its worst economic crisis in years, in part because of a failure by donors to deliver pledged funds. But its finances were plunged further into chaos after president Mahmud Abbas won upgraded UN observer status at the UN General Assembly in late November.

Isn’t that special.  We have a lot of things in America that our tax dollars and those dollars borrowed from China could be used for and what does Obama want to do with them?  Give them to a nation that hates America!

    That is Obama logic.

$500 million would keep air traffic control centers open.  That is about a quarter of what is needed to refuel the nuclear carrier USS Abraham Lincoln.  The USS Abraham Lincoln is just sitting in port in Virginia, little more than a 100,000 ton paper weight because budget cuts have made it impossible to refuel the carriers’ nuclear reactor.

Which is worse?  The Obama Regime’s reckless spending of our money or the silence from the Republican Party?

I no longer like Bill Clinton

  • Posted by David Lawrence on March 22, 2013 at 9:31am

I no longer like Bill Clinton

I contributed thousands of dollars to Bill Clinton back when he was running for office.  I was even invited to his second inauguration in Washington.

When he was impeached I felt that the Republicans were picking on him.  Who cared that he had oral sex in the Oval Office?

What business was it of anyone else’s?

That was before I lost my business and went to jail for tax evasion.  That was before I crashed into the wall of morality, realized the power of reform and learned to respect my punishment. It’s ironic that living with criminal people makes you realize the sickness of immorality.

It wasn’t until I got to jail that I understood that values were all that kept us from being beasts or getting locked up.  Sexual morality did matter.  I watched criminals reading porno magazines and it made me sick. Living with farting and burping men makes you fall in love with women.

I did not experience a religious conversion.  I was a Jew but I was not religious.  I experienced a moral conversion, an appreciation of what was right and wrong instinctively rather than in a religious context.

I realized that Clinton’s being the leader of the strongest country in the world required respect for one’s position.  Engaging in sex in the White House and cigar foreplay was an insult to the country, Clinton’s wife and to Monica herself.  It embarrassed us throughout the world and made us seem weak and without values or principles.

If Clinton had any class he would have resigned from the Presidency.  He would have said, “I have violated the rules of marriage and leadership.  I do not deserve to be President.  I do not belong.”

And yet the old reprobate still hangs around politics, loved by his immature followers and jockeying for the presidency for his cuckolded wife. He is now promoting gay marriage even though he has no respect for any sex and is using gays as a pretense for his purported open-mindedness.

Maybe his cheating with an intern does not affect his ability to make executive decisions.  But it does affect the constellation of views that circle around him and weaken him as a leader.  He embarrasses us.  He should get out of the limelight and swim in a remote Maine nudist camp where he can pretend that his perversions are just love of fresh air.

    New Pope, Same Liberal Media

    New Pope, Same Liberal Media

Pope Francis, the first Pope of that royal name, was elected by the cardinals of the Roman Catholic Church on March 13, 2013.

Francis is the first pope of the Americas, a region that nobody believed (but many hoped) a pope would come from.

Like Benedict XVI, however, Francis is faced with a challenge - the liberal media.

Recall that when Pope Benedict XVI was elected, the Mainstream Media 1.0 hated him. He was not only very conservative but very educated, serving an academic position and acting as a ghostwriter for Pope John Paul II during his later years. Benedict XVI was very conservative during his papacy, most notably with his executive order allowing churches to vote to offer the Tridentine Rite (Latin Mass), though he tended to be liberal at times.

The liberal Mainstream Media did everything they could to dig up scandals on Benedict XVI, frequently including a call for him to resign with every article published (as well as consistent attempts to push him into allowing abortion, euthanasia, female priesthood, and gay marriage and adoption).

When Benedict XVI did resign, the Mainstream Media started pulling the same tricks on Francis I. Francis has already stated his opposition to gay families and abortion. Digging up a military scandal, and having Michael Moore release a fake photo of a non-Francis giving Communion to an Argentinian dictator, accompanies pushing the liberal agenda with regard to abortion, gay marriage, female priesthood, etc.

There is no reason for the Mainstream Media to do this. Catholics are not required by their faith to agree with the pope 100% on everything, nor is anyone forced to be Catholic. One can change their religion anytime, or start their own church, as the Society of St. Pius X did in their opposition to Vatican II and the New Mass.

Sometimes the Mainstream Media 1.0 and the liberal agenda it pushes is very obvious. This has consistently been the case with its constant attempt to bully the Catholic Church into approving abortion and other liberal causes. This happened during the reign of Benedict XVI, and will continue to happen under Francis I.

As is our right under a secular democratic republic, we are free to believe what we choose to believe. If you disagree with someone else's beliefs, feel free to tell them yours, but don't bully or judge them. Intimidation is never the answer.

    Our Country Run By Idiots!

If you have to get your parents’ permission to go on a field trip or take an aspirin in school, but not to get an abortion ... you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots.

If you can get arrested for hunting or fishing without a license, but not for being in the country illegally ... you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots.

If you have to show identification to board an airplane, cash a check, buy liquor, or check out a library book, but not to vote who runs the government ... you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots.

If the government wants to ban stable, law-abiding citizens from owning gun magazines with more than ten rounds, but gives 20 F-16 fighter jets to the crazy new leaders in Egypt ... you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots.

If, in the largest city, you can buy two 16-ounce sodas, but not a 24-ounce soda because 24-ounces of a sugary drink might make you fat ... you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots.

If an 80-year-old woman can be stripped searched by the TSA but a woman in a hijab is only subject to having her neck and head searched ... you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots.

If your government believes that the best way to eradicate trillions of
dollars of debt is to spend trillions more ... you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots.

If a seven year old boy can be thrown out of school for saying his teacher is "cute", but hosting a sexual exploration or diversity class in grade school is perfectly acceptable ... you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots.

If children are forcibly removed from parents who discipline them with spankings while children of addicts are left in filth and drug infested homes... you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots.

If hard work and success are met with higher taxes and more government intrusion, while not working is rewarded with EBT cards, WIC checks, Medicaid, subsidized housing, and free cell phones ... you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots.

If the government's plan for getting people back to work is to incentivize NOT working with 99 weeks of Unemployment checks and no requirement to prove they applied but can’t find work ... you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots.

If you pay your mortgage faithfully, denying yourself the newest big screen TV while your neighbor buys iPhones, TV's and new cars, and the government forgives his debt when he defaults on his mortgage ... you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots.

If being stripped of the ability to defend yourself makes you more "safe" according to the government ... you might live in a country founded by geniuses but run by idiots.

'Atheist liberals just love to play God'

In today's issue: A caller prompted Dr. Savage to note that godless progressives love to “play God” themselves, in their need to control every aspect of people’s lives, right down to how much soda they can, and should, consume.

“The less connected people are to God, the more they want to be like God,” said Savage, adding:
Look at Hugo Chavez, the dictator who just died.
Why are lowlifes like Sean Penn attracted to dictators?
Because they themselves have no belief in God and believe themselves to be demo-gods.
That's why they're drawn to the even bigger demigod.
Do I personally know if God exists? Let's put it this way: I have my doubts.
The older I get, the more doubts I have, when I see babies killed and I see evil thriving.
But I'll never forget a conversation I had about God with a stranger.
I was in North Beach in San Francisco in the mid-1970s. He was a hobo -- not a homeless bum, as they are today. In other words, he was a vagabond, with long white hair.
I asked him if he believed in God, and he looked at me with unblinking blue eyes like I was crazy for asking such a question, and he replied: “Who do you think created me?”

Nancy Pelosi wants you to pay a $10.10 minimum wage. Herself, not so much.

  • Posted by Jack Kemp on March 8, 2013 at 4:43pm
  • Jack E. Kemp

The Washington Times now reports that "Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said that recent Wall Street gains mean one sure thing: The minimum wage should be hike to $10.10 per hour."

Well, that sounds generous of Nancy Pelosi.  But some of our readers may recall a 2006 piece at American Thinker which stated:

As Peter Schweizer notes in his best-selling expose of liberal hypocrisy, "Do As I Say (Not As I Do)," part of the fortune of this defender of the working man is a Napa Valley vineyard worth $25 million that she owns with her husband. The vineyard produces expensive grapes for high-end wines. Napa grapes bring up to $4,000 a ton compared with $300 a ton for, say, San Joaquin grapes.

But Pelosi, winner of the 2003 Cesar Chavez award from the United Farm Workers, hires only nonunion workers and sells these grapes to nonunion wineries. ...

Which makes Pelosi's steadfast opposition to any attempts to enhance border security and stem the flow of illegal immigration into the U.S. all the more interesting since she seems to be among those rich employers who financially benefit from a steady supply of cheap foreign labor. ...

The source book, Do As I Say (Not As I Do), also has this quote on pages 150-151:

The Pelosis own a large stake in an exclusive, fifty-room hotel and resort in Napa, California. Auberge du Soleil features a world-class French restaurant, a luxury spa, and beautiful rooms with cottages, all in the ambience of Provence...The hotel resort has more than fifty rooms and boasts more than 250 employees - but it is a strictly nonunion shop. The dishwashers, maid staff, busboys, and bellboys (many of them Hispanic immigrants) might be targeted in membership drives by HERE (note: an AFL-CIO union), but at Auberge they will have to face management alone.

    [snip]

... the Pelosis are also partners in a restaurant chain called Piatti. ... The chain boasts sixteen restaurants in five states and has more than nine hundred employees. ... But work there ... and you can't get a union card. As with Auberge du Soleil, at Piatti the Pelosis' commitment to organized labor ends at the front door.

Author Peter Schweizer also emphasizes that because many of the Pelosis' workers are immigrants, they are the most likely to have lower wages.  The book did not specify whether these employees included illegal aliens; however, there is a possibility of that.  Ironically, Schweizer also points out that none of the unions Nancy Pelosi supports would hold a conference at her hotel because of the non-union labor.

It appears that Ms. Pelosi could easily be paying less than the legal minimum wage to workers who have, shall we say, problems with either documenting their status or understanding labor laws written in English or even another language.  Thus, Pelosi possibly could not be impacted by a rise in the minimum wage the way McDonald's -- or McDonald's employees -- would be.  By the way, a hamburger with "pomme frites" (French fries) at The Bistro Bar at Pelosi's Auberge du Soleil hotel is $19.

It also appears that Nancy Pelosi feels (notice I didn't say "thinks") that expenses added to employers by ObamaCare, impacting both hiring and firing, make for a mere trifle that can be easily absorbed with no problem -- no problem for her, that is.

Well, Al Gore can drop by her hotel with his huge check from Qatar, and they can share a glass of wine from her vineyard and sing "Look for the Union Label," as Al said his mother used to sing to him (at age 27).  They can both then look for the union label -- but they won't find it.

Rand Paul Confirms There Is Always Hope

  • Posted by Lloyd Marcus on March 10, 2013 at 7:42am

Courageous Tea Party Senator Rand Paul confirmed my statement that no one can foresee the future well enough to be totally fatalistic. Since the presidential election, discouraged patriots have been saying we have lost the country. Obama holds all the cards. All hope of restoring our country back to the vision of our Founding Fathers is gone. Game over.

As a Christian, I have encouraged patriots to keep the faith, stay on the battle field defending what is right. Situations can turn on a dime. Who could have foreseen that Rand Paul would challenge Goliath and win? Senator Rand Paul's successful Filibuster resulting in the White House backing down from their unconstitutional claim that Obama has a right to kill Americans without due process is huge.

I wonder if this latest Obama Administration attack on the Constitution (wanting the right to kill Americans on American soil without a trial) was their jump-the-shark-moment? This extremely scary attempt by the Administration really exposes Obama's Imperial President mindset and arrogance.

And quite frankly, why shouldn't Obama feel emboldened to do whatever he pleases including deciding who lives and who dies? Low info voters have sent Obama the message that as long as he keeps his vow to take care of them and punish the rich, they do not care about losing freedom or him shredding the Constitution. Along with the mainstream media firmly in his back pocket, it is understandable that Obama would think himself invincible – a supreme dictator – a king.

By attempting to secure unprecedented unconstitutional authority to kill Americans at will, Obama may have pushed the envelope a bit too far in the minds of the American people.

Also, I have noticed that a few in the mainstream media are criticizing Obama for closing down the White House tours to hype his bogus pain of sequestration.

And here is another breath of fresh air confirming that the country has not gone totally reprobate. The Bible miniseries is enjoying huge numbers, even beating the zombies.

So, to all you hopeless gloom and doomers in the Tea Party, stop it! There is always hope. You do not know what is going to happen tomorrow.

So you gotta hang on til tomorrow, come what may. Tomorrow! Tomorrow! I love ya tomorrow! You're always a day a-wayyyyyyyyy!!!”

  • Thought Crimes and Pastry Guns

  • Posted by David M. Huntwork on March 8, 2013 at 9:35pm
  • Recently, a school in the once great state of Maryland offered counseling to students “troubled” by a classmate eating pastry into the shape of a gun. You might think his offense was kind of silly, but the school considered the seven year old students triggering action a “Level 3” violation of the following code:

Any gun of any kind, loaded or unloaded, operable or inoperable, including any object other than a firearm which is a look-a-like of a gun. This shall include, but is not limited to, pellet gun, paintball gun, stun gun, taser, BB gun, flare gun, nail gun, and air soft gun.

His two day suspension was followed up with a letter to every parent in the school:

    Dear Parents and Guardians:

I am writing to let you know about an incident that occurred this morning in one of our classrooms and encourage you to discuss this matter with your child in a manner you deem most appropriate.

During breakfast this morning, one of our students used food to make inappropriate gestures that disrupted the class. While no physical threats were made and no one [was] harmed, the student had to be removed from the classroom.

    * * *

As you are aware, the Code of Student Conduct and appropriate consequences related to violations of the code are clearly spelled out in the Student Handbook, which was sent home during the first week of school and can be found on our website, www.aacps.org.

If your children express that they are troubled by today’s incident, please talk with them and help them share their feelings. Our school counselor is available to meet with any students who have the need to do so next week. In general, please remind them of the importance of making good choices.

Yes, let us discuss the mental devastation of dastardly pastry weaponry with our children, shall we?  Thankfully, the strawberry pop tart in question was destroyed before it could cause any further harm to the most vulnerable among us.

Now the child, to his credit, did take full blame for this ugly incident. He told FOX45, "All I was trying to do was turn it into a mountain but, it didn't look like a mountain really and it turned out to be a gun kinda." When his teacher saw the strawberry tart he knew he was in trouble, "She was pretty mad…and I think I was in big trouble."

This, unfortunately, is not an isolated incident. It is instead just another example in a long list of examples of disturbing reactions to children simply being children currently unfolding all across the nation. Now as “scary” as pop tart guns, tiny action figure plastic weapons, pointy “finger guns,” and invisible pretend grenades may be to school administrators (who apparently don’t remember what it was like to be a child) their reactions to such child's play makes them an amazing embarrassment to themselves as well as to society at large.

I would further offer that if you are a teacher or school administrator afraid of legos, fingers, paper, active imaginations, rubber bands, spit balls, and the like then you have absolutely no business attempting to shape and mold vulnerable young minds. These and related incidents are certainly a stinging indictment of the public school system. Understand the reality that these are the type of people teaching your children, guiding their education, and indoctrinating them on how to think and act while you are off trying to make a living and provide for your family. It is simply disgraceful. The public school system continues to morph into the liberal indoctrination system at an alarming speed with its usual baggage train of illogical thought and actions.

I think we can all agree that no lives are saved, no tragedy averted, and no additional aura of safety added to a school campus by such classroom clampdowns. In this hyper-sensitive, progressive, nanny-state world where we are afraid of shadows and the innocent actions of small children one can only wonder what ever happened to logic and common sense. It is not this poor child with a twinkle of an imagination that needs counseling or punishment, but the principle and a teacher who made this into more than a five second incident. A stern “Josh, sit down and eat your food” would probably have been sufficient but no, not in “let’s scare the public that all guns are bad” overreaction land.  In this era of symbolism over substance sound thinking is really the only casualty in the classroom in this type of situation.

These same finger-wagging administrators should have seen my childhood toy gun collection, not to mention the full scale battles we waged at recess in elementary school. When I was a child playing full blown WAR at recess was normal and nobody gave it a second thought. We played Army, Star Wars, and staged epic reenactments of civil war battles during recess. We even had officers and ranks.

Often such playground clashes were elevated to class on class warfare. The fifth graders would wear their Boy Scout shirts on a certain day and be the Union, and the sixth graders would play the Confederates. If your position was “overran” you might get roughed up a bit but such play consisted mostly of the trading of volleys followed by Gettysburg like charges. It really was great fun. I think even pastry kid would have enjoyed it. Can you imagine the hysterics such a scene would cause today? “Little Billy Yank pretended to shoot a musket at little Johnny Reb at Barack Obama Elementary School today, full story at eleven.”  How things have changed in such a short amount of time.

And while it is easy to write such paranoia off to nervous ninnies and worry-wart weenies, the other alternative is perhaps even more frightening. A comment by JCM (http://twitter.com/JCM1776) suggested the following.

This is not stupidity, laziness, on the part of school. This extreme intolerance of an everyday object has a purpose.

Indoctrinate an entire generation that guns are bad, bad, bad, that talking about them, having pictures of the them, the thoughtcrime of them is evil itself.

When this generation comes of age, disarming then enslaving the population becomes a breeze.

Now that is more frightening than any misshaped pastry could ever be.

Perhaps the school would just have been happy if little Josh had merely stated that he was transgendered and wanted to go change with his female classmates in the girl’s locker room. For that type of behavior is being strategically fast-tracked as normal and protected while at the same time playing with your government funded pop tart is not. Progressivism is indeed a confusing and detrimental disorder, and the proof is all around us.

Our enemies parade their children around in suicide vests and teach them to kill and hate all Westerners and Jews. We teach ours to be afraid of misshaped breakfast food and to tremble at the mere hint of something possibly representing a firearm. Even in obvious play. The educational system in the United States is beyond broken and is dominated and controlled by politically correct, busy-body Progressive administrators. What a shame.

In the end, Josh’s father said "I'll just call it insanity, it's a pastry." I couldn’t agree more.

Ryan: New House Republican budget includes ObamaCare repeal

    Published March 10, 2013

    FoxNews.com

Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan, chairman of the House Budget Committee, said Sunday that his new budget includes the repeal of President Obama’s health-care reform law known as ObamaCare.

Ryan told “Fox News Sunday” that the new proposal will make enough cuts to balance the federal budget in 10 years, compared to his previous one that tried to achieve that goal in 25 years.

“We think we owe the American people a balanced budget,” the Republican congressman said.

Ryan said the focus of the ObamaCare repeal would be to stop the expansion of Medicaid, the federal program that provides medical services to low-income U.S. families.

“Our budget does promote repealing ObamaCare,” said Ryan, who was not clear whether his 2014 budget is based on a full repeal.

Ryan, the Republican 2012 vice presidential nominee, said he wants states to run Medicaid through federal block grants.

Ryan said his proposal attempts to reach a balanced budget, in part, by slowing the rate of federal spending from 4.9 percent to 3.4 percent. Other parts include consolidating federal job-training programs and reforming the federal Food Stamp program to ensure only qualified applicants receive the benefits.

“I’ve very confident this is the way to go,” said Ryan, whose budget would have a better chance of passing the Republican-controlled House than the Democrat-controlled Senate.

White House suspends public tours, but first family trips in full swing

Visitors to the nation's capital looking for a White House public tour are out of luck starting this weekend, courtesy of what the Secret Service says is its own decision to deal with the sequester cuts.

But while the agency said it needed to pull officers off the tours for more pressing assignments, the budget ax didn't swing early or deep enough to curtail a host of recent Secret Service-chaperoned trips like President Obama's much-discussed Florida golf outing with Tiger Woods, first lady Michelle Obama's high-profile multi-city media appearances, or even daughter Malia Obama's New York dinner outing with a group of teenage friends.

Obama's pricey golf outings have been a particular target for Republicans who see them as examples of what they say are the administration's rather selective concerns with running up the tab of Secret Service resources. On March 5, Texas Rep. Louis Gohmert filed an amendment to a House resolution that would prohibit federal funds from being spent on Obama's golf trips until public tours of the White House resumed.

Gohmert referenced press reports pegging the cost of a recent Florida golf outing Obama took with Tiger Woods at $1 million. He also cited press reports saying 341 federal workers could have been spared furloughs if Obama had stayed home.

"The president's travel expenses alone, for the golfing outing with Tiger Woods, would pay for a year of White House visits," Fox News contributor Charles Krauthammer said Thursday. "So I suggest that perhaps he curtail the travel."

The price tag and draw on Secret Service resources involving promotional campaigns like Michelle Obama's "Let's Move" initiative is less clear.

The Secret Service does not usually reveal how many agents and other resources are assigned to protective missions so it's not known just how much it cost taxpayers to ferry the first lady to events like her dance routine on Jimmy Fallon's show -- the highlight of a Feb. 22 media blitz in New York -- or her Feb. 27-28 visit to Mississippi, Missouri and her hometown of Chicago.

Those trips would all have involved Secret Service details traveling with the first lady, as well as advance work by teams of agents on location.

When asked by FoxNews.com if the first lady's office or schedule would be affected by the sequester, the White House issued a 100-word statement that made no mention of any specific cuts that might affect Michelle Obama's activities -- while making a generic reference to cuts affecting the "Executive Office of the President," which houses the first lady's office.

Deputy Press Secretary Josh Earnest, asked how the White House was cutting back, on Friday said there would be furloughs and pay cuts.

On the decision to close the tours, Press Secretary Jay Carney a day earlier said "the President and the first lady have throughout the time that they've been here made extraordinary efforts to make this the people's house, and it is extremely unfortunate that we have a situation like the sequester that compels the kinds of tradeoffs and decisions that this represents."

It's also not clear what Secret Service resources were dedicated to the New York visit by 14-year-old Malia Obama, who was spotted dining with a group of friends at the New York restaurant Buddakan less than 24 hours after President Obama signed off on the sequester. According to media reports, the group was chaperoned by four parents and five security guards who dined at the table directly next to them. There were also Secret Service agents in the restaurant, according to reports that said they stayed behind the group.

How much overtime these types of assignments cost the Secret Service may be an area of concern. Donovan told FoxNews.com that overtime costs factored into the decision to shut down the White House tours. By taking the 30 officers involved in the tours and assigning them to high-priority security posts, officers normally on those duties can log fewer hours -- in turn saving the Secret Service money.

"It reduces overtime costs overall for us," Donovan said.

The tours will not be rescheduled and will stay frozen until further notice.

That's bad news for groups like the sixth graders at St. Paul's Lutheran School in Iowa, who had been planning to take the White House tour on March 16. Fourteen students from that group and their teacher on Thursday took their frustrations to Facebook. In a web video, they held up handmade posters and chanted, "The White House is our house."

Some Republicans in Congress expressed their displeasure with the cuts more forcefully. "Canceling all self-guided White House tours is the latest shameless political stunt by the president, who is twisting basic government efficiency into an extreme consequence," Rep. Tom Graves, R-Ga., said in a statement March 5.

Rand Paul and the 2014 Revolution

  • Posted by Judson Phillips on March 8, 2013 at 8:57am in Tea Party Nation Forum

Rand Paul launched his filibuster Wednesday night.  He may have also fired the first shot in the second wave of the Tea Party movement.

The actions of Rand Paul, Ted Cruz and other conservatives in the Senate have galvanized the Tea Party movement in a way we have not seen in a long time.

What does that mean for 2014 or even 2013?

We have seen friends and enemies for 2013 and 2014.

Top on the enemy list is now Lindsay Graham.  I have been preaching caution as to which Republicans we primary so that we ensure that we take control of the Senate.  Graham is an exception to that.

South Carolina needs to pull out all of the stops to find a winning candidate who can beat Graham.

Republicans can and should learn from Rand Paul’s filibuster.  Stepping out and being courageous brings support.  Rand Paul and Ted Cruz singlehandedly brought a desperately needed jolt of enthusiasm to the movement.

In the space of 13 hours, Rand Paul transformed himself from the Junior Senator from Kentucky to one of the top leaders of the conservative movement.  Doing even less, Ted Cruz went from being a freshman Senator to another major leader in the conservative movement.

In Colorado, Republicans are planning a Rand Paul like filibuster to stop radical gun control.   While some of the radical bills will probably pass, the Republicans will energize their base by simply standing up and fighting.  Reports indicate some Democrats are wavering and may even break from the party.

    Why is this happening?

It is happening because Republicans are showing courage.

This is a lesson that is totally lost on the House Republican leadership.

John Boehner, Eric Cantor and the entire House leadership are clueless.  You would think they would have learned by now in their dealings with Obama that they cannot simply deal with the Obama Regime.

What do the Republicans need to do?

First they need courage.  Rand Paul and Ted Cruz just showed them how to do it.  John McCain and Lindsay Graham, who were dining with Obama instead of standing for liberty, reacted like petulant, hormonal teenaged girls.  Graham said he had been opposed to CIA nominee John Brennen before Rand Paul’s filibuster.  Now because Rand Paul had taken the spotlight, he would now vote for Brennen.

Rand Paul’s filibuster reminds us that it was not the GOP message that was the problem in the 2008 and 2012 elections.  It was the candidate and the candidate’s message.

#standwithrand became the top twitter hashtag in the world while Rand was doing his filibuster.  There is a reason for that.  There is a reason why the RINOs like McCain, Graham, Boehner and Cantor have repeatedly failed.

It is time for the Tea Party to go hunting for 2014.

RINO are in season and there is no bag limit.

  • Rotten to the Core: The Feds' Invasive Student Tracking Database

  • Michelle Malkin
  • Michelle Malkin
  • (This is the fourth installment of a continuing series on nationalized academic standards known as the "Common Core.")

While many Americans worry about government drones in the sky spying on our private lives, Washington meddlers are already on the ground and in our schools gathering intimate data on children and families.

Say goodbye to your children's privacy. Say hello to an unprecedented nationwide student tracking system, whose data will apparently be sold by government officials to the highest bidders. It's yet another encroachment of centralized education bureaucrats on local control and parental rights under the banner of "Common Core."

As the American Principles Project, a conservative education think tank, reported last year, Common Core's technological project is "merely one part of a much broader plan by the federal government to track individuals from birth through their participation in the workforce." The 2009 porkulus package included a "State Fiscal Stabilization Fund" to bribe states into constructing "longitudinal data systems (LDS) to collect data on public-school students."

These systems will aggregate massive amounts of personal data -- health-care histories, income information, religious affiliations, voting status and even blood types and homework completion. The data will be available to a wide variety of public agencies. And despite federal student-privacy protections guaranteed by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, the Obama administration is paving the way for private entities to buy their way into the data boondoggle. Even more alarming, the U.S. Department of Education is encouraging a radical push from aggregate-level data-gathering to invasive individual student-level data collection.

At the South by Southwest education conference in Austin, Texas, this week, education technology gurus were salivating at the prospects of information plunder. "This is going to be a huge win for us," Jeffrey Olen, a product manager at education software company CompassLearning, told Reuters. Cha-ching-ching-ching.

The company is already aggressively marketing curricular material "aligned" to fuzzy, dumbed-down Common Core math and reading guidelines (which more than a dozen states are now revolting against). Along with two dozen other tech firms, CompassLearning sees even greater financial opportunities to mine Common Core student tracking systems. The centralized database is a strange-bedfellows alliance between the liberal Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (which largely underwrote and promoted the Common Core curricular scheme) and a division of conservative Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. (which built the database infrastructure).

Another nonprofit startup, "inBloom, Inc.," has evolved out of that partnership to operate the database. The Gates Foundation and other partners provided $100 million in seed money. Reuters reports that inBloom, Inc. will "likely start to charge fees in 2015" to states and school districts participating in the system. "So far, seven states -- Colorado, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, North Carolina and Massachusetts -- have committed to enter data from select school districts. Louisiana and New York will be entering nearly all student records statewide."

The National Education Data Model, available online at http://nces.sifinfo.org/datamodel/eiebrowser/techview.aspx?instance=studentElementarySecondary, lists hundreds of data points considered indispensable to the nationalized student tracking racket. These include:

--"Bus Stop Arrival Time" and "Bus Stop Description."

    --"Dwelling arrangement."

--"Diseases, Illnesses and Other Health Conditions."

    --"Religious Affiliation."

--"Telephone Number Type" and "Telephone Status."

Home-schoolers and religious families that reject traditional government education would be tracked. Original NEDM data points included hair color, eye color, weight, blood types and even dental status.

How exactly does amassing and selling such personal data improve educational outcomes? It doesn't. This, at its core, is the central fraud of Washington's top-down nationalized curricular scheme. The Bill Gates-endorsed Common Core "standards" are a phony pretext for big-government expansion. The dazzling allure of "21st-century technology" masks the privacy-undermining agenda of nosy bureaucratic drones allergic to transparency, accountability and parental autonomy. Individual student privacy is sacrificed at the collective "For the Children" altar.

Fed Ed is not about excellence or academic achievement. It's about control, control and more control.

    Sin Tax on Bikes

Now They've Done It: A Sin Tax on...Bikes

Well, it took longer than I thought, but a government has finally out-greened itself. In the great state of Washington, the legislature wants to tax… wait for it …breathing.

“Holy exhalations!” you say, “Is it true?”

Yes old chum, I’m afraid it is. It would appear the folks on Washington’s equivalent of a capitol hill have come up with a transportation package that tabs out at 10 billion clams, which is a lot, even for a coastal state. Okay, that was a lousy play on words. MOVING ON THEN…

Actually $10 billion is a lot of money, even in a day and age in which the national debt probably increased by that much in the time it has taken me to put the period at the end of this sentence.

So from where will all these dollars flow? Well, from a gasoline tax naturally. Anymore you can’t have a left-wing state without a gasoline tax on all of those icky carbon spewing vehicles. C’mon, you should have been able to guess that one on your own!

But according to a handy flyer provided by the Seattle Times, a gas tax is only part of the plan. There is also an increase in the commercial gross weight fee, a Motor Vehicle Excise Tax, a Hazardous Substance Tax, two bonds (“Bond” is a nice word for “taxes”, by the way.) and… drumroll please…a $25 tax on bicycles that cost more than $500. The legislators in Washington figure that should garner about a million bucks for roads.

    What?

Yup, Washington State wants to tax bikes. The legislature there want to tax gas saving, non-polluting bikes powered by the human machine that emits no disgusting substances to befoul the air. You might be tempted to say “Hey, bicyclists use the road, they ought to pick up at least some of the tab.” And you would be right. But according to one legislator, it is the amount of carbon exhaled by cyclists that merit them getting hit with this tax. And imagine my chagrin when I discovered it was a Republican spouting this bit of nonsense. In an article on The Examiner website by Mikael Thalen, GOP State Representative Ed Orcutt is quoted as saying: “A cyclists [sic] has an increased heart rate and respiration. That means that the act of riding a bike results in greater emissions of carbon dioxide from the rider. Since CO2 is deemed to be a greenhouse gas and a pollutant, bicyclists are actually polluting when they ride."

    Insert laugh track here.

So, a Washington Republican finally succeeded where Jacque Cousteau, Sir David Attenborough, England’s Prince Phillip, and Ted Turner could not- he has pinned climate change onHomo sapiens. And apparently also on his semi-high-end bike.

I know folks who eschew cars for bikes because of the cost and because they want to lessen their personal carbon footprint. That’s fine, do as thou wilt, oh pilgrim. They are put out by motorists who don’t give them the space they need, or call them “dirty hippies” as they drive by. Conversely, I know motorists who are annoyed by what they perceive to be an elitist attitude by cyclists, who seem intent on making themselves a nuisance on streets and roads. That’s a debate for another time. (Personally, I just wish they would not ride so close to the white line on the side of the road. I always think they are going to swing out into traffic.)

What is germane to this discussion is that bicycles have at best a barely discernible impact on roads. That, and in this case we are essentially talking about what amounts to BREATHING TAX. The problem with that is breathing is one of those things everyone does. Unless you are a fetus, a corpse or an astronaut, you are at this moment inhaling and exhaling; and apparently inflicting damage on the atmosphere.

A story goes that Mark Twain was once trapped by a bore who lectured him at length on the Great Hereafter. The man said to Twain: “Do you realize that every time I exhale some poor soul departs this world?” Twain is reported to have replied “Really? Have you tried chewing cloves?”

Apparently for the elected officials of the Evergreen State, chewing cloves will not suffice.

They feel it is time to tax people simply for existing.

    The Historical Jesus

    The Historical Jesus

Every once in a while, we hear a false charge. A charge that has significance during this Lenten season of 2013.

It’s an old lie that seems to keep resurfacing. The accusation is that supposedly there is no historical reliability to Jesus as a person.

In other words, we supposedly can’t know for sure that He even existed historically.

That is so false. For example, Will Durant, the great historian who wrote the series, "The Story of Civilization,"noted in the volume, "Caesar and Christ," that if the same criterion by which some philosophers claim Jesus didn’t really exist as an historical person, then by that same criterion we’d have to throw out all sorts of historical figures, such as Hammurabi or King David.

Will Durant was not a believer. But even he saw how false this notion was.

This lie that we don’t know if Jesus ever existed is even dallied with, and (thankfully) dismissed, by some of the modern bestselling books promoting atheism by Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, and the late Christopher Hitchens.

I heard a caller on a talk show recently where he was challenging the host and co-host as to Jesus Christ. The caller made the astounding claim that Jesus is only written about in the New Testament, but there were no secular or non-Christian sources writing about Him during those early years.

Unfortunately, the hosts let this comment slide by with some sort of remark like, “You have to take it on faith.” But Christianity is well-rooted in history. Jesus is better attested than virtually any figure of antiquity.

Dr. Gary Habermas of Liberty University is the author of "The Historical Jesus." He tells us that there are multiple non-Christian sources from the first and second centuries that refer to Jesus Christ in one way or another.

These include: Josephus, Tacitus, Thallus, Phlegon, Pliny the Younger, Suetonius, Emperor Trajan, Emperor Hadrian, the Talmud, Lucian, Mara Bar-Serapion, and so on.

In addition, there are multiple sources from Christian writers who are not in the New Testament. They would include Clement of Rome, Diognetus, Aristedes, Papias, Barnabas, Polycarp, Ignatius, Melito of Sardis, Quadratus, Justin Martyr, and so on.

Dr. Gary Habermas and Dr. Mike Licona, authors of "The Case for the Resurrection of Jesus," note that there is more documentation for Jesus Christ within 150 years of his life, even from secular sources, than there is for Caesar Tiberius.

    That’s an astounding observation.

To create an analogy: Imagine if 2000 years from now, there was more documentation on the life of a traveling minister (whose ministry lasted three and a half years) than there was for the President of the United States, during whose term the preacher preached.

Furthermore, Dr. Habermas once told me, “Actually, the life of Jesus is recorded in whole or in part, different segments, in about 20 different non-Christian sources, archaeological or historical, outside the New Testament.”

He went on to say, “Now most of these are little snippets, a sentence here, a paragraph there, but you put them all together and there’s approximately 60 to 65 facts concerning the life, death, resurrection, teachings of Jesus in the earliest Church. You can get an outline of his life and never touch the New Testament.”

So the next time somebody tries to sell you on the idea that Jesus cannot be documented in history---even secular history, please lovingly but firmly stop them in their tracks…with the facts.

No reputable historian denies the historicity of Jesus.

5 Reasons Barack Obama is a Creep

    John Hawkins
John Hawkins is a professional blogger who runs Right Wing News

Is Barack Obama the Vladimir Lenin of American Presidents? No, Lenin was competent in an evil sort of way. Obama is more like Leonid Brezhnev: an ultra left-wing, belligerent doofus who isn't laughed at by the general population primarily because the mainstream media liberals say nice things about him out of fear that they'll end up in a gulag if they're too harsh. Of course, we don't have gulags, but reporters who criticize Obama would be snubbed by their peers at cocktail parties in Manhattan and Old Town, which seems almost as bad to liberals. This is how a narcissist who scores at "Nixon after Watergate" on the presidential likability scale can be perceived by much of the public as a long suffering, bipartisan nice guy. The real picture is less Van Gogh and is more Andy Warhol, if Andy Warhol were a five year old coloring with cow dung crayons.

    1) Obama NEVER stops campaigning: Barack Obama almost seems disinterested in actually governing the country. Apparently the only thing he does passably well is campaign; so he has just decided to do that. His agenda, from Obamacare, to free birth control, to amnesty for illegals has nothing to do with the country's immediate problems and everything to do with politics. This is a big part of the reason that Washington has become even more nonfunctional than usual under Obama -- because he ALWAYS acts as if there's an election next week and winning it by trying to make the GOP look bad is his first priority.

    2) What he says is completely unrelated to what he does: Barack Obama is like an alcoholic who pledges to quit drinking and then gets hammered every night. Afterwards, his doting family full of enablers (played by the part of the mainstream media) pats him on the back and talks about what a great example he is for other people because he pledged to quit drinking. This is how Barack Obama can demand a sequester and then turn around and run against it or yammer on incessantly about transparency while he stonewalls on Fast and Furious. We're talking about a man who's worth nearly 10 million dollars, who has campaign events with celebrities and millionaires on a regular basis, and who just seems to squeeze in a little bit of work in between lavish vacations and golf outings with Tiger Woods; yet he spent most of last year campaigning against rich people. This is almost like listening to Bill Maher complain about loud mouth know-nothings who regularly say incredibly stupid things just for shock value.

    3) He works overtime to pit Americans against each other: Barack Obama's entire campaign strategy -- and don't forget, he's always campaigning -- is based on convincing different groups of Americans to hate each other. He tries to convince black and Hispanic Americans that Republicans hate them for their skin color, gays that Republicans hate them for their sexuality, women that the GOP is pro-rape, poor people that the rich are taking all their money, people who've had children killed that gun owners are in favor of their children dying -- it just goes on and on. There have been campaigns of genocide across the world that have featured less vitriolic rhetoric against the people who were murdered than Barack Obama and Company have engaged in since he became President. Then they turn around and wonder why Republicans in Congress have trouble working with them. Go figure.

    4) His hypocrisy on bipartisanship never ends: Politics is a brass-knuckled street fight in a phone booth and if you want a friend in Washington, get a dog or alternately, if you're Robert Menendez, you hire an underage Dominican prostitute. What's so frustrating about Barack Obama is that he's as much of a diehard partisan as Rachel Maddow or Chris Matthews, but he never stops yapping about the importance of bipartisanship. This is a man who has done everything short of screaming, "Screw you, Republicans," over and over at the State of the Union and yet he keeps claiming other people put "party before country." It would be nice if he ever put his country before his party. Once. Ever. In his entire presidency. But, we're still waiting.

    5) He's such a liar: Calling a politician a liar is a little bit like calling the Occupy Movement lazy and violent. It just sort of goes with the territory. But, even in a profession known for lying, Obama is the “lyingest” liar ever to spew lies out of his lie hole because he is allowed to get away with it. Obama's coverage by the press is like that movie, The Invention Of Lying, where the main character is the first person on the planet to ever figure out how to lie and everyone simply takes whatever he says at face value. In this case, the part of "everyone" is played by the mainstream media which starts with the uncritical assumption that Obama is always right, good, and truthful, while the people who disagree with him are mean, partisan liars. Obama could sacrifice a child to Satan at a press conference tomorrow, get ripped for it by Republicans, and the headlines would read, "Republicans Accuse The President Of Child Murder. Have They No Shame?" Afterwards, Obama would blame the child sacrifice on Bush and we’d have weeks of “Republicans and Satan team up to wage war on children” stories in the media.

    Political Irony

Isn’t it ironic that the wife of the president who failed to rescue embassy personnel gave out an award for a movie about the successful rescue of embassy personnel?

    Joe Biden: Gun Advice

If you prefer to be armed, Vice President Joe Biden really wants you to get a shotgun. During an online town hall event recently, Biden advised women to get a “double-barrel 12-gauge shotgun” and fire “two blasts” outside if they feel threatened by a home intruder.

Well, now the vice president has some more gun advice. During an interview with Field and Stream, Biden advised gun owners to “just fire the shotgun through the door.” He also doubled-down on his claim that most people can “handle a shotgun a hell of a lot better than they can a semi-automatic weapon.”

Here’s a partial transcript of the interview via Field and Stream:

F&S: What about the other uses, for self-defense and target practice?

BIDEN: Well, the way in which we measure it is—I think most scholars would say—is that as long as you have a weapon sufficient to be able to provide your self-defense. I did one of these town-hall meetings on the Internet and one guy said, “Well, what happens when the end days come? What happens when there’s the earthquake? I live in California, and I have to protect myself.”

I said, “Well, you know, my shotgun will do better for you than your AR-15, because you want to keep someone away from your house, just fire the shotgun through the door.” Most people can handle a shotgun a hell of a lot better than they can a semi-automatic weapon in terms of both their aim and in terms of their ability to deter people coming. We can argue whether that’s true or not, but it is no argument that, for example, a shotgun could do the same job of protecting you. Now, granted, you can come back and say, “Well, a machine gun could do a better job of protecting me.” No one’s arguing we should make machine guns legal.

A Texas gun shop owner who spoke to TheBlaze refuted Biden’s claim that a 12-gauge shotgun is easier to handle and use than a semi-automatic rifle like the AR-15, which is known for its ease of use and accuracy.

He said a 12-gauge shotgun can be difficult to use for some people. Having taught many women how to shoot, the 21-year gun industry veteran, said the AR-15 semi-automatic rifle is “better suited for a lady.”

“It would be better for all-around home defense and it’s one of the most accurate guns out there,” he added.

In the same Field and Stream interview, Biden also said that anyone who needs a “clip” (actually a magazine) with 30 rounds in it is a “danger” to themselves.

“If you can’t get the bear or deer in four or five shots, you’ve got a problem,” he said.

    What is Important to Obama

    What is important to Obama?

    • Posted by Judson Phillips on February 28, 2013 at 6:36pm in Tea Party Nation Forum
    • Psychologists will tell you that you can tell what is important to people by how the send their time and how they spend their money.

In the case of Barack Obama you can tell by how he spends his time and our money.

What is important to Barack Obama and why does he hate real Americans?

Barack Obama has been spending his time the last few days telling about the gloom and doom about to befall America.

Soldiers and sailors will be furloughed.  Air Traffic will no longer be safe.  Meat inspectors will not inspect meat.  Illegal aliens are being released because there is no space for them in detention facilities because of the budget cuts.  The aircraft carrier USS Harry Truman cannot sail and the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln cannot have its nuclear power plant refueled because of budget cuts.

What can Obama spend money on?

Secretary of State and famed defamer of Vietnam vets, John Kerry just promised the Syrian rebels $60 million.

Wait a minute?  Isn’t our nation broke?  Isn’t sequester going to be the end of the world as we know it?

Won’t sequester mean the government will quit functioning?

Obama’s hysterics aside, it is only a two percent cut in the budget.  Realistically it is cutting 2% out of a 4% raise.

But if our situation is so dire that shipyard workers who build ships for the Navy are going to be furloughed, why are we giving money to Syria?  If the situation is so grim that the Department of Homeland Security must release criminal illegal aliens, why are we giving money to these Islamic terrorists?

Perhaps the better question is why are we giving them money at all.  While we are told the world is ending, we are giving Egypt billions of dollars worth of fighter planes and tanks.  Why are we doing this?  We are giving them billions of dollars in foreign aid.

If Americans are going to lose their jobs because of this sequester, why are we sending this money overseas?

If we cannot defend our nation, why are we giving billions to other nations?

Either it is not nearly as bad as Obama says it is or Obama really hates America and wants to drive us under.

      You decide.

    Whitehouse Threats To Media

Former Clinton aide, columnist joins Woodward in claiming White House threat

    Published February 28, 2013

Another member of the Washington political media stepped forward Thursday to claim he was threatened by the Obama White House, shortly after the White House denied reports that an adviser threatened famed Watergate journalist Bob Woodward.

The latest claim comes from Lanny Davis, who served as counsel to former President Bill Clinton and later went on to write a column for The Washington Times. In a radio interview on WMAL, Davis said that a "senior Obama White House official" once called his editor at the Times and said that if the paper continued to run his columns, "his reporters would lose their credentials."

Davis said he "couldn't imagine why this call was made" since he's an Obama supporter.

But he called the alleged threat "unfortunate."

The account comes after Woodward claimed Wednesday night that a White House aide sent him an email saying he would "regret" his recent reporting on the sequester battle. The aide was not identified, but an official familiar with the exchange told Fox News it was National Economic Council Director Gene Sperling -- the tone of the email was rather mixed, as it also included an apology. That was after Woodward wrote a column this past weekend claiming Obama was trying to re-write history -- regarding not only whose idea the sequester was, but also how it would take effect.

Woodward wrote that based on his reporting earlier in the budget battle, the president was trying to move the goalposts by trying to replace the sequester with a mix of tax hikes and spending cuts -- instead of solely spending cuts.

After Politico reported late Wednesday that Woodward was coming forward to claim he was threatened, a White House aide denied the claim.

"Of course no threat was intended," wrote the White House aide. "As Mr. Woodward noted, the email from the aide was sent to apologize for voices being raised in their previous conversation. The note suggested that Mr. Woodward would regret the observation he made regarding the sequester because that observation was inaccurate, nothing more. And Mr. Woodward responded to this aide's email in a friendly manner."

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said Thursday that Woodward and Obama's advisers merely "had a factual disagreement that I think we stand by."

He stressed that it's clear nobody was threatening anybody, and that the tone was "respectful."

According to Politico, Woodward said he was "yelled at" by an Obama aide over his weekend column in the Post. Then, he said he received a page-long email from the aide -- apparently Sperling -- that said: "I apologize for raising my voice in our conversation today. ... You're focusing on a few specific trees that give a very wrong impression of the forest. But perhaps we will just not see eye to eye here. ... I think you will regret staking out that claim."

Animosity between Woodward and the Obama team is rising, as the journalist has repeatedly needled the administration on its sequester talking points. His reporting bolstered claims that the sequester idea originated at the White House. And this week, he called the administration's handling of the cuts "madness."

Former Obama adviser David Plouffe tweeted Wednesday: "Watching Woodward last 2 days is like imagining my idol Mike Schmidt facing live pitching again. Perfection gained once is rarely repeated."
