Oh, Those Kinder and Compassionate Liberals . . . .

Accelerant Poured around Palin's Church, Investigators Say

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – An accelerant was poured around the exterior of Gov. Sarah Palin's church before fire heavily damaged the building, federal investigators said Monday. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said the accelerant was poured at several locations around the church, including entrances.

The blaze was set Friday night at the main entrance of the Wasilla Bible Church while a small group, including two children, were inside.

Their hypocrisy just keeps right on coming . . . . time and time again.

American Values and Hollywood

Ran across this several days ago and since it reflects my own views thought I would include it here:

2 in 3 Believe Values of Most Americans Not Shared by Hollywood

A majority of the people in America believes TV and movie executives do not share the religious and moral values of most people in the country, according to a recently released survey.

Released during the Anti-Defamation League (ADL)’s 2008 Annual Meeting in Los Angeles, the national poll of 1,000 American adults found that 59 percent of Americans agree that "the people who run the TV networks and the major movie studios do not share the religious and moral values of most Americans."

Furthermore, the poll found that 61 percent of Americans continue to believe that religious values in this country are "under attack."

"The belief that relig! ion is under attack underlies the drive to incorporate more religion into American public life,” commented ADL National Director Abraham H. Foxman in the report’s announcement last Friday.

“Disturbingly, 48 percent of Americans believe there is an organized campaign by Hollywood and the national media to weaken the influence of religious values in this country," he added, noting another of the survey’s findings.

As expected, the percentage of Americans who believe that TV and movie executives do not share the religious and moral values of most American was highest (70 percent) among those who attend religious services at least once a week and declined as service attendance was less frequent. Among those who seldom or never attend church, only 43 percent agreed.

A similar trend was seen when looking at the percentage of those who agree that there is an organized campaign by Hollywood and the national media to weaken the influence of religious ! values in the country.

The latter view was most popular! among t raditional Catholics, 65 percent of whom agreed with the statement. Conservative Protestants followed with 56 percent agreeing, while only 30 percent of those not affiliated agreed.

Another interesting finding from the survey was the percentage of those who agreed that religious values are under attack in the country. While 83 percent of John McCain voters agreed with the statement, only 44 percent of Barack Obama voters agreed. Similar percentages were found when specifying narrowing religious values to Christian values.

"It is troubling that so many Americans feel as if the output of Hollywood is part of an organized campaign to undermine religious values in this country,” commented Foxman.

Conducted by the Marttila Communications Group, a Boston-based public opinion research firm, the recent survey, titled “American Attitudes on Religion, Moral Values and Hollywood,” was conducted in October and has a margin of error of +/-3.09 percent. </P!>

Other questions asked by the survey included whether "dangerous ideas should be banned from public school libraries" and whether the United States is becoming "too tolerant in its acceptance of different ideas and lifestyles." Thirty-eight percent of respondents agree with the former statement and 59 percent disagree. Meanwhile, 49 percent agree with the latter statement and 47 percent disagree.

The National Media

I was pleased to find out it wasn't just me who got pissed off at the media during the last presidential election.   During a Thanksgiving dinner at my son's in-laws the subject came up and they and the rest of those attending all agreed that they pretty much no longer watch the news on NBC, CBS, ABC , MSNBC AND CNN and a few others.   It really is sad that the national media sources think it is ok not to just report the news but to use their power to influence it.   Journalism in this country really is dead.

The good old days of Walter Cronkite and Huntley/Brinkley are over and now we have the Ken & Barbie news teams with their inane banter bashing the Republicans and Conservatives at will; and the people running those news outlets cheering them on.

RIP America 11/4/2008.

George Bush

Shame of the Republican party for turning their back on President Bush instead of defending him from the vicious attacks on his character made by the Liberal Socialists that call themselves Democrats.   I did not hear even once how the Liberals squashed the efforts of Bush and McCain to pass a reform to Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae;  this reform would have saved us from the current financial crisis we are in on Wall Street.    I did not hear even once how the men who had top positions in these two organizations that caused this problem are top advisors on the B. Hussein Obama campaign.

George Bush I support you and wish you well in all of your future endeavors.   My friend you are a great President.

President Elect

My intentions are to give the new President every bit of support that the Media and Librerals (Socialists) have given to George Bush. . . . . that would be NONE!

Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin is a breath of fresh air in the stale Republican/Conservative party.  She stood strong for her values and beliefs despite the constant attacks from the mainstream media (which my family and extended family does not watch anymore - thank God for FOX) and also the constant attacks from the Decomcrat/ Liberal/ Socialist party.  If Sarah should decide to run again in the next election I know of a lot of people in main street America who WILL support her in every way we can.

So Thank You Sarah Palin !

Conservatism - Still Alive

Despite the fact that the Democrat Liberal Socialist won the election all is not lost.  Think about this;  Barrack Hussein Obama had all of the national media (except for FOX) in his corner,  he had many many more millions of dollars to spend,  the stock market crash played in his favor.    Yes with all of these things aligning right for the Socialist (Democrats)  and all of the excitement he seemed to generate in his followers etc - he only managed to pull 51 per cent of the vote.

If the Conservative party gets it's backbone back and starts standing up for their beliefs instead of compromising with the Socialist they can put their selves back in line to win the next presidential election (assuming we survive the next 4 years).

A Loss For Our Country

I think our country has indeed lost it's moral values and it is a result of the liberal media  and those losers in Hollywood or the general entertainment industry.    I am afraid I have always tried to have an open mind and even split my ticket somewhat but this election has made me so mad that I have decided to only vote in the future for anyone who is a real Conservative;  the rest I won't even give a second thought to.  I just hope the conservitive party can start standing up for their root values once again.  Oh,  sorry but I felt the need to whine.    But one last partying shot:

We now have elected a man who:

1. Believes in murdering innocent unborn babies and even believes in killing those who are born with birth defects

2. Who is a Socialist

3. Whose party investigated a private citizen such as Joe the Plumber for simply asking a reasonable question and tried to ruin his life

4. Whose party spewed so much hatred and venom at Sarah Palin I wonder how they can live with themselves.  (of course with no moral values and conscience I guess that is easy for them.)

5. Who sat in a church for 20 years listening to the hate speach of Rev Wright

6. Who IS friends with a terrorist who has bombed public buildings in our own country and wishes he could have done more.

This is a sad day for Americans and I fear the country I have loved and supported might not be around for my grand children.

By The Way

In case I forgot to mention it.

VOTE FOR MCCAIN/PALIN !

Election Day

Anyone reading my recent posts here know where I stand on the election.  But with that said I want to encourage everyone, even those who do not agree with me, to get out and vote tomorrow for your candidates.

In New York state it is a given that the Democrat (Liberal, Socialist) is going to win; but I still get out and vote every time and make sure my sons and their families also vote - it is our Patriotic duty.

No matter who wins and what happens our great country will survive it until the next election when we try once more to get our guy in.

Barack Hussein Obama - Socialism

In case anyone really believes that turning our country into a socialist country, here is an excerpt from a Blog written by a lady in Cuba who lives in Socialism everyday of here life.

"twisted economics of state socialism"

Anyone who  buys into the Obama spread the wealth Socialist agenda should be forced to go live in Cuba for a while.  Here is a couple more excerpts  from another Blog written by a different Cuban lady.

1. The first prize we have already won:  the blog continues to live in the face of the blockade on the public servers in Cuba.  Even if I can’t see it, I continue writing and neither the complications of Internet connections nor the other “impediments” are going to stop it.
2. I would like to refer to another siege in effect every day.  This one prevents me from entering or leaving my country freely, from associating with a political group or creating a small family business.  An internal blockade, constructed on a base of limitations, control and censorship, has cost Cubans countless material and spiritual losses.  I decide to go out for the newspaper Granma—which requires a huge effort—and try to find the outcome of today’s debate in the United Nations.  I go out into the street and what is most glaring are the continuing restrictions imposed on us by our leaders.

Liberal Entertainment Industry

The entertainment industry is the most likely to:

  • Abuse Alcohol
  • Abuse Drugs
  • Be anti American
  • Cheat on their spouses and go from marriage to marriage
  • Beat up reporters or otherwise engage in some violent activities
  • Go into rehab for something 5,6,7,8 or more times
  • Get into trouble with the law
  • Be anti life in their liberal abortion views
  • Be anti family in their - well all of their views

Yet this group has the audacity to tell American citizens how to vote and sadly enough they have enough money and access to the media to do it.

Barack Hussein Obama - Capital Gains Tax

Dolphins owner H. Wayne Huizenga said Sunday no date has been set for selling up to 45 percent more of the team to Stephen Ross, but the presidential election is among the issues weighing on his decision.
That's because a Barack Obama administration is expected to mean higher capital-gains taxes.
"He wants to double the capital gains tax, or almost double it," Huizenga said. "I'd rather give it to charity than to him."
Ross purchased 50 percent of the team and Dolphin Stadium for $550 million earlier this year with the intention he would eventually become majority owner. NFL owners approved the eventual transfer this month, meaning it can take place anytime.

Michelle Obama

In her Senior these at Princeton, Michele Obama, the wife of Barack Hussein Obama state that America was a nation founded on "crime and hatred".   She clearly has a chip on her shoulder and she see's separate black and white societies in America.

Another passage from her thesis that is uncomfortable and ominous in meaning:  There was no doubt in my mind that as a member of the black community, I am obligated to this community and will utilize all of my present and future resources to benefit the black community first and foremost.

It is no wonder that most black alumni ignored her racist questionnaire.   Only 89 students responded out of 400 who were asked for input.   Michelle Obama does not look in a crowd of Barack Hussein Obama supporters and see Americans;  she sees black people and white people.

By the way it was this mean and hateful white America that paid for her scholarship.

Go figure.

Bias and the Media

As reported in the Seattle Post.  The Project for Excellence in Journalism's report finds that since the conventions the number of negative stories about John McCain were 57 percent while for Barack Hussein Obama the number of negative stories were at only 29 percent.   Talk about the national media influencing the election instead of just reporting the news - this is just down right disgusting and one more reason to tune out the major media news sources (ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC AND CNN)

I heard someone recently say that journalism in America is dead and this sure does support that sentiment.   And I am not alone since I know a lot of folks who are choosing to tune out the major news media just as my family has (and my two sons families).

Barack Hussein Obama

This candidate has not released any of the following records, and I find that troubling.   What exactly is this man hiding?    And further if there is nothing to hide then he would have released them.    Here are the records he won't release:

1. Occidental College Records

2. Columbia College Records

3. Columbia Thesis Paper

4. Harvard College Records

5. Selective Service Registration

6. Medical Records (And no, a 1 page note from his doctor is not the same as releasing his records - we might expect that from an elementary school student.)

7. Illinois State Senate Schedule

8. Illinois State Senate Records

9. Certified Copy of Original Birth Certificate

10. Record of Baptism

Mr Barack Hussein Obama needs to release this information before election day or withdraw from the race.   Again "What is he hiding?"

Congress and the Budget

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall.   No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits.   The president can only propose a budget.   He cannot force the Congress to accept it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes.   Who is the speaker of the House?   She is the leader of the majority party.   She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

And also the when Barrack Hussein Obama and his party point out that the GW Bush approval rating is so low they forget to mention that the approval rating for the Democratic led Congress is at an all time low and is actual about a third (10%) of the Presidents(30%).  But then again reality or the truth has never been their strong suit.

Getting Cold

Well I knew summer was pretty much over with already but having to wear a jacket and gloves to work in the yard yesterday was a real eye opener - and it sucks!

I hate winter and cold weather and ice and all the stuff that goes along with winter.  I mean you can't even take out the garbage without weather a coat and gloves and boots - and if I haven't already said it "it sucks".

But with all that said we did manage to get most of our outdoor Halloween decorations up yesterday.  And I did manage to clean and repair the gutters on the house.  I really need to pay more attention to those gutters as it had been so long since I cleaned them there was actually plants growing in them (small - but still there).

We were too late to get the corn stalks we use to decorate outside with where we usually get them;  so I guess we will have to actually pay for some - rats!

The weather man last night said we might see snow this week.  Remind me to send him a nasty note expressing my distaste for snow and cold weather.

Presidential Debates 2008

The final debate is now over and I for one am very glad.   Most of the country had already decided on who they were voting for anyway so it is kind of an outdated and useless process.    I would have rather seen an old re-run of Law and Order myself but my dear wife had it on so I was forced to endure it;  I just wish she had watched it on FOX instead of one of the major Barack Hussein Obama media networks.

One thing that did  become more clear than ever was that the Democratic party should change it's name now to the Socialist party and be honest with the American people now.    Over the years I kept thinking that someday I might go back to the Democratic party which I grew up in, but that party does not exist anymore - too bad, I guess it is true you can never go home again.

Something that did come out of this election is that I will no longer split my ticket but from now on I will go down the line and vote all Conservative.     And this is from a guy who once voted twice for Jimmy Carter - probably the nicest man ever to reside in the White House.

Economy: Recession, Depression or What

Friday night as my wife and I went out for dinner and a movie we observed that the restaurants were full and at the movies there were full theaters (at least for the movie we chose).    Didn't appear that many people here are afraid to spend money.

And today we drove north to Schroon Lake for a little relaxation and briefly stopped at the outlets in Lake George and guess what - full parking lots and many of them from out of state.    No one seemed afraid to use gas even at these higher prices and definitely not afraid to spend money on these shopping trips.

The media seems intent of trying to scare us to death about the economy but most of us who don't invest in the stock market are working and spending and living as usual.    And most of us are mad as hell that the government are bailing out the people who caused the current problems.

Music

Lately I have been listening to a lot of jazz. I have found it to be very relaxing and listen to it in the car during drive time before and after work. Some of the artists I have music for are:
Theloneous Monk
John Coltrane
Ramsey Lewis Trio
King Cole Trio

But I need more, lots more of it.

Depending on my mood I also in spurts have been listening to a lot of classic country music. From the older artists who actually sound like country music. Artists like Hank Snow, Stonewall Jackson, Hank Williams Sr, Webb Pierce, Hank Locklin and others.

Some of todays artists I like are Sugarland, Josh Turner, K.T. Tunstall, Feist, and, Shania Twain.
There are others I just can't remember right now.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Well after two pre season games my Buc's are looking pretty good. The quarterback position is doing well but they just need to decide who is in the number two slot. I personally like Griese. Maybe things will come together for them finally. Heres hoping.

My two sons are Chicago Bears fans and it doesn't look too great for them right now but we'll see when the real season starts.

Mean America

A certain presidential candidates wife is not proud of America, in fact she says America is "mean". Well if it wasn't for this mean country there would be millions more people around the world starving and/or dieing for lack of medical care. This mean country under the Bush administration increased aid to Africa from 1.4 billion annually to over 4 billion annually; and U.S. trade with Africa has doubled since 2001. As a matter of fact this mean country is the single largest donor of foreign economic aid.

I notice that this country isn't so bad this candidate and his wife have ivy league college education and both have been sucessful in their careers. This country is not so bad that they have moved to more progressive and nicer country. . . . . beause there isn't any. . . . .

I wasn't a big John McCain fan until I started learning more about his opponent and those he surrounds himself with (including his wife). Now I definately will be voiting Republican; or should I say against the Democratic candidate.

I am proud of my country. I am proud of the way we send aid and support to 3rd world countries. I am proud of the way that our citizens volunteer to help those in need all over the world. In fact I know a number of people in my church who have gone on mission trips to the Phillipines and Zimbabwe; as a matter of fact one man has left for an extended mission trip to zimbabwe.

Diet - Ugh!

Well I have been doing the weight watcher points diet for almost 3 weeks now and am very happy with it. I have not only lost 9 pounds but also my blood sugar readings have been very good.

The best thing is that if I stay with low point foods I can satisfy my hunger and stay well within my alloted points for the day. I have been keeping a daily journal of what I eat and have been careful to weigh everything so I can accurately assign the proper number of points to each food.

Hanna Montana

When my youngest grand daughter fell in love with Hanna Montana (Miley Cyrus) I was happy to see her taking to someone who had good values, unlike most of the entertainment crowd. We even tried for the longest time to get her tickets to the concert she was putting on in this area and even bought a music CD to listen to.

How disappointed I was to hear about and see the photographs of Miley Cyrus with her unclothed and with a sheet draped around her giving us that come hither look. Now she is sorry she did that and appologizes; well I have seen and heard that routine too many times over the years from these entertainment types. I will no longer buy CD's and try to get concert tickets for my grand daughter for Hanna Montana; I just hope Disney has someone else they can push who is going to be a better role model than Miley.

Spring?

Well, we have had some nice weather lately and the trees are growing new leaves and the tulips are flowering;  and everything is just beautiful.  But today it is raining, but admittedly we do need the rain as everything is fairly dry and they are warning against open burning.

I drive through Washington Park in Albany to and from work everyday and it is just beautiful with everything blooming and people are starting to come out and walk and sun bathe and throw frisbees etc.    It is so alive right now,  it's great!

A Few Disjointed Thoughts

Since I posted in early February my wife and I have been to Tampa FL to visit my family; particularly my Dad who is 91 years old and in a nursing home. We stayed with my sister and her husband while there. I really wish we lived a lot closer to them than we do; we have so much fun with them when there.

I just got out a new issue of a newsletter I do for my church: United Church of Cohoes (Presbyterian). I like doing it but getting people to give me information is like pulling hens teeth.

I turn 61 years old this year and am thinking of retiring when I reach 62 - so the countdown will start officially in a couple months. I have mixed emotions about that.

I have said that if McCain got the republican nomination that I would vote for a 3rd party candidate. But I have reconsidered that as I would be helping Hillary or O'Bama to win the election so I have to suck it up and vote for McCain. I had thought for a while of looking at O'Bama but there are things surfacing that make me very afraid of him getting to be President; including his wife who isn't glad to be an American even though she has enjoyed more of it's benefits than most of us ever will. Anyway I am going to vote for McCain.

Super Bowl

This Sunday is the Super Bowl and that is all that anyone is talking about right now. I watch it every year and enjoy it. But this year I am not excited about either of the teams that are playing. I will root for New York simply because I can't stand the Patriots. My team the Bucaneers didn't make the cut then I pulled for Indianapolis and then Green Bay . . . oh well.

I don't think we are having anyone over this year as my son is having people over to his house. And my wife and I can't go because we take care of her mother here at our house and she can't be left alone. Thats ok though I'll still watch the game and eat too much.

One good thing about watching the super bowl is the funny commercials that they always come up with.

Politics

This upcoming election is interesting to say the least but depending on who the Democrats choose it could make my decision making easier. The bottom line is, if Hillary gets the nomination then I will vote for whoever runs against her. If Obama gets it then I will have to drop back and do a comparison of the candidates for the two parties.

I am not inclined to vote for McCain as he is just a Liberal even though he is in the Republican party. He really doesn't have any of the values I like. It looks like Romney is the best of the lot for me but it isn't looking good right now.

Actually I am not really crazy about the candidats of either party but we have to take the lessor of the two evils according to our own values and beliefs.

Football and MIscellaneous

Well the football season is over, the playoffs are over and it will be New England verses the New York Giants in the super bowl. I don't really care for either team but I really dislike the Patriots so I will root for the Giants. My brother in law loves the Patriots so I have to keep my big mouth shut when he is around - sometimes that is not easy for me.

A few weeks ago I was ordained and installed as a Deacon in my church - The United Presbyterian Church in Cohoes. I have taken on the responsibility of putting out our church newsletter (the Sonlight). I put one out and have one ready to go but it has a lot of filler as people while they like to do the work don't want to take the time to put anything in writing for the newsletter and bulletins etc. Not being one who likes to pester people I will just do what I can without annoying anyone.
