I'm So Tired

Sometimes life just wears me down. Things aren't going badly enough so this morning I discovered we had water in the celler and the heat and hot water were out. I waded in the celler to try to find our submersable pump but it wasn't there; my legs were so numb they hurt. After I found the pump and got it working I discovered it just wasn't going to be enough so I went out and charged another pump and a garden hose to take the water away. It wasn't until around 6 p.m. tonight the water was finally down and I set about getting the heater to run on so we don't freeze to death tonight. Then I got the hot water heater to turn on so we can survive the night. I have an early meeting at work tomorrow or I would consider sleeping a little late.

On another note my Bucaneers lost, my sons Bears lost and so I was going to pull for Indianapolis . . . but they also lost. I guess at this point I don't really care who wins the Super Bowl.

Christmas Shopping

Well here it is the 16th and we still have some shopping to do. We have split it up this year with some of it done online. The problem with online is that I kind of like to hold and look at the items under consideration and I really like taking it home with me as soon as I buy it.

December 2005

Christmas is almost here. We have the outside of the house decorated and are now starting our shopping. .. . . the part of Christmas I really hate. But you can't have everything, you have to take the bad with the good. I still have some stuff in the cellar I have to bring up yet. . . . maybe this weekend after I finish fixing the leak in the bathtub drain.

Almost Halloween

Here it is Saturday the 29th, weather is getting better and may be pretty good for halloween. We have to decorate the outside of the house yet but will get it done this weekend.

I started this week writing my annual Christmas poem for my wife (Dot). They don't come as easily as they used to or I would write more poems than just Christmas andAnniversary like I do now.

Good Week

This Wednesday my oldest granddaughter has her 11th birthday. It is really hard to believe how the time has flown; I still think of her as a toddler at most.

We just got back from Ausable Forks NY where we went up so my wife could attend a baby shower for the daughter of one of her relatives. It was a great trip.

The Kids

Danny recently took a new job with Mountain Media. He loves it and from what we see it looks like a company he can really grow with. They design websites and do web hosting etc and boy does that sound interesting to me as I have dabbled a bit with html and style sheets.

Dana is still going to school at Roger Williams University where he is studying Marine Biology. He is doing very well despite the really hard subjects he is having to take, subjects that he has to study almost 24/7 to pass. He has put in a lot of work in this.

Presbyterian Church

Over the years I have tried out a number of churches and last Sunday went to a Presbyterian church in Cohoes. I grew up in a Presbyterian church. This one wasn't the same formal service I was used to and expecting - it was very loose and well, different. It was friendly but I have to think about this one and then maybe decide whether it is for me or not.

They mentioned something call a "Purpose Driven Life" which I think is a book. I may have to look that up to see what it is all about.

Long Weekend

Labor day weekend is here and the grandkids will be going back to school very soon. . . and they are not too happy about it. I am sitting here watching a rerun of Monk on TV and boy it is very very funny.

I have to report to Jury Duty on Tuesday the 6th. I don't look forward to it but I guess I will survive it.

War Of The Worlds

A week or so ago we went to see the War of the Worlds movie and we both loved it. I had some reservations about it since I love the old version with Gene Barry but I soon changed my mind.

This is fathers day and I plan to do nothing!
