NBC–No Journalistic Integrity

There are three things in life that are guaranteed certainties: death, taxes, and every cop who shoots a black teenager will automatically be labeled a racist by the media.

Just about every time an incident occurs, evidence usually points to the fact the police officer was violently attacked by the thug, which is what led to their untimely demise.

Here’s a good case in point.

A black Wisconsin teenager–who turned out to be convicted of armed robbery–violently attacks a police officer, leaving the officer no choice but to use lethal force.

Is that the story mainstream media reports?

Of course not.

From Legal Insurrection:

Let’s take a look at  how NBC covered this shooting in a post headlined: Black Teen Tony Robinson Shot Dead by Cop in Madison, Wisconsin, Was Unarmed. First, their lede:

The 19-year-old black man who was shot dead Friday during a confrontation with a police officer in Madison, Wisconsin, was unarmed, police said Saturday.

A “confrontation,” eh? How wonderfully passive.  Zero indication of whether this confrontation might have been the responsibility of the black man or the police, except for the observation that the black man was unarmed–so, right in the first sentence they’ve established the ” cop shoots unarmed black teenager” narrative with which we’ve grown so tiresomely familiar.

Within hours of the incident, the family gets an official spokesman, and as you can probably guess, there were protests and sit-ins at Madison City Hall.

NBC then refers to a previous incident Officer Matt Kenny–the individual who shot Tony Robinson–was involved in where he shot and killed a man in what was later to be determined to be a “suicide-by-cop” situation.

He was cleared of any wrongdoing, but of course, the MSM brings this incident up because they’re doing their best to put together a narrative that paints this cop as a violent, crazed, homicidal, racist maniac.

Oh, it gets better.

NBC then goes on to include quotes from the family which seem to paint Robinson as a darling little angel incapable of doing wrong.

Sharon Irwin, Robins’s grandmother:   “He was a beautiful, beautiful soul and everybody that knew him knew that.”

Robinson’s aunt, Lorien Carter: “This is the type of child that you wanted to have in your life because he made it better.”

Conveniently, NBC left out a bunch of details that give context to Kenny’s decision to use lethal force against Robinson.

First off, Robinson wasn’t even remotely close to being the perfect angel he was made out to be in the piece.

In fact, he was a convicted armed robber.

So, what do we find in The Smoking Gun post that was left absent from the NBC piece?  As we did with the NBC piece, let’s start with the lede:

The unarmed Wisconsin teenager who was shot to death last night during a confrontation with a Madison cop pleaded guilty last year to armed robbery and recently began serving a three-year probation term for that felony conviction, court records show.

Oh and they left out this teeny tiny little detail about Robinson bashing Kenny in the head, knocking him to the ground, and engaging in a struggle. I mean, seriously, this isn’t THAT important of a detail, right?

According to police, an officer responded Friday to a 911 call about a man who had assaulted a victim and was dodging cars in traffic. The cop followed the suspect into a nearby apartment, where the man allegedly struck the officer in the head, knocking him to the ground. During an ensuing struggle, patrolman Matt Kenny fatally shot the suspect.

Stuff like this is solid proof the mainstream media has abandoned journalistic integrity in favor of being the government’s cute and cuddly lapdog–there are other terms, but they’re highly inappropriate so I won’t use them–pushing their agenda instead of pursuing the facts.

This is why it’s critical to do your own digging for the facts, because chances are, major news outlets aren’t telling you everything you need to know in order to draw a well informed conclusion on a matter.

Maybe, just maybe, one day we’ll see major news organizations return to the pursuit of truth, following the trail of facts wherever they lead.

Preemptive surrender strikes again!

As everyone knows the current Republican Leadership in Congress has banished the elephant as the symbol of the Republican Party and instead substituted the freshly laundered white flag of surrender.

Insanity is often defined as trying the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.  On a crucial issue, the Republicans have once again moved to preemptive surrender.

Will the Republicans ever learn or is the insanity they engage in repeatedly part of a plan?

Mitch McConnell, the alleged Senate Majority Leader has once again stolen John Boehner’s freshly laundered white flag of surrender and hoisted it before battle.  The issue is the debt ceiling.

The government is running out of borrowed money.  The national debt is at over $18 trillion and a sane person would look at the debt against America’s gross domestic product and say, perhaps it is time to rein in spending and reduce borrowing. 

Barack Obama does not want to reduce borrowing.  If he can build America’s debt high enough, it will eventually bring down the American economy.  Only then can the system he wants, a socialist system, be put in place. 

Republicans are allegedly the adults in the government room and claim they stand for fiscal sanity.  Mitch McConnell just proved otherwise.

On Sunday, McConnell said he would not let the government default on its debt.  Is he really that stupid or is this just an act he is putting on for TV?

The Obama Regime is demanding the debt ceiling be raised.  When Obama was sworn in, in January 2009 the national debt stood at a little over $10 trillion. Obama has increased that debt by over 70%.  Right now it stands at over $18 trillion and the new debt ceiling demand will most likely push it to $20 trillion.

Where did all of that money go?

That type of borrowing is unsustainable. 

Which gets us back to the debt ceiling. 

All that hitting the debt ceiling means is that America has maxed out its credit cards.  It doesn’t mean the nation defaults on its debt.  Only the Treasury Secretary can do that. 

If the debt ceiling is not raised, America must reprioritize spending and service the debt first, then pay its other bills. 

By announcing he would not let the government default, McConnell has announced he is surrendering. 

Anyone who has ever done any negotiating knows you do not take your strongest point of leverage off the table before a deal.  That is what McConnell has done.  The only leverage the Congress has is to threaten not to approve a new debt ceiling.  McConnell is announcing in advance that Obama may now dictate to the Republicans the terms of their surrender. 

This is likely the last debt ceiling fight for Obama.  As he moves into the last 22 months of his Regime, he is trying to do as much damage to America as he can.  The conditions he will demand in this debt ceiling debate will be outrageous. 

Thanks to the Republican surrender, America will one day look like Greece.  We will be begging our lenders to restructure our debt.  Unfortunately for America, most of our lenders do not really like this nation nor do they wish to see America remain a superpower. 

But than again, neither does Barack Obama.

Oh, You Thought 58 Gender Options Were Enough? You Thought Wrong.

Did you know that Facebook gives users 58 gender options? And did you also know that 58 is apparently not inclusive enough? That’s why they decided to add a 59^th “fill in the blank option.”

"Now, if you do not identify with the pre-populated list of gender identities, you are able to add your own," Facebook announced online Thursday morning.

ABC News reported that a transgender Facebook employee hopes that this move will help "open up the dialogue.”

Because obviously, 58 genders isn’t enough. I don’t even know why I’m surprised. For crying out loud, Wesleyan University doesn’t think the LGBT acronym is inclusive enough, so they changed it to LGBTTQQFAGPBDSM.

Headaches.

CPAC's Reaction To Jeb Bush Wasn't What It Seemed

So Jeb Bush spoke yesterday, and it wasn’t what it was made out to be.

I have to admit, it probably wasn’t easy for Jeb Bush to speak at CPAC. Let’s just say, he’s not everyone’s favorite person around here. Honestly, I’ve only seen a handful of people with Bush stickers on their shirts, and when Hannity asked the CPAC crowd if they wanted Bush as their nominee, the room filled with boos. But if it’s any consolation for Bush, they booed for Chris Christie, too.

Before Bush came in, a young man sat next to me and asked if I was a Jeb Bush “fan.” I told him I wasn’t, and he said, “Oh good. I might boo and didn’t want to offend anyone close by.”

A few minutes later, another guy wearing a Jeb Bush sticker walked by and the guy sitting next to me teased him saying, “Hey, who’s Jeb?” The other guy turned around, rolled his eyes and muttered, “Wise ass.”

So yeah. That’s kind of the “Jeb Bush climate” around here.

Before he came up to speak, I heard rumors that some were planning to walk out upon his arrival. When the time came, some people did walk out, but it wasn’t anything really extreme. I was actually kind of disappointed.  

But to be fair, the protestors followed a man named William Temple, who is known at conservative conferences for dressing as a patriot and carrying the Gadsden flag. So that made it a bit more fascinating.  

“Jeb Bush is an establishment kind of man,” Temple said. “We fought the Brits—they’re our friends now—but we fought the Brits so we wouldn’t have a monarchy. Now, in Washington, we have an establishment royalty.”

Anyway, I stayed for the majority of Bush’s appearance. It was different than the others, because he didn’t actually give a full on speech like the other candidate hopefuls. I think that was strategic. He instead engaged in a Q&A with Hannity.

But this is the thing I found the most interesting. Remember how I previously mentioned that there were like, no Bush supporters here? Suddenly, 10 minutes before his Q&A with Hannity, the room began to fill with supporters. In the moment, I couldn’t figure out where they came from. I later found out that Bush’s “Right to Rise” PAC actually brought over supporters from D.C. a few miles away.

So now, the mainstream media is likely going to go crazy saying, “Hey look! The CPAC crowd actually liked Bush! There were lots of cheers during his remarks!”

I’m here to tell you no. That’s 100 percent media manipulation. Those people were bussed in, but don’t forget to hear about that from the mainstream media.

Maybe he’s your guy. Maybe he’s not. All I’m saying is, don’t let the mainstream media pick your candidates for you.

I Hate The Conservative Media's Coverage Of Phil Robertson, And Here's Why

I absolutely adore the Duck Dynasty clan. Everything about their story is inspiring. They’re a testament to hard work and the power of redemption which I thought was a thing to be celebrated here in America.

But I’m really disappointed in some of the conservative media outlets. Instead of writing about the substance of Phil Robertson's CPAC speech, which focused on addressing his critics who accuse him of being “too religious,” they focused on a line he said about STDs and how to eradicate them. Of course, the liberal media went crazy too. But I expected better from conservatives.

The truth is, Phil doesn’t give a crap what anyone thinks of him, and even if you disagree with him, you have to respect him for that. In a world where politicians say anything to gain votes and popularity, it’s refreshing to see someone who has a strong moral stance and unwavering faith, despite the haters on the left and right.

“I sincerely love you," Robertson said in his address. “And by the way, my love for you is not contingent on how you feel about me. You say, ‘Well what if we hate your guts? Do you still love us?’  Sure. You say, ‘You love us, and you’re not worried about how we feel about you, not one bit. Don’t forget that.”

I think it was really smart for Phil to address the critics of his spirituality. He pointed out that the Founding Fathers were God-fearing men, and it's ignorant to say otherwise. Godless progressives can try to reinvent American history, but at the end of the day, they're only deceiving themselves. 

Quoting George Washington, Robertson said, “Finally that he would most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind, which were the characteristics of the Divine Author– he’s talking about Jesus– of our blessed religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things, we can never hope to be a happy nation.”

“Obviously, George Washington was pretty religious,” he added. “What do you think?”

Like it or not, our nation was founded by God-fearing men and on Judeo-Christian values. (Sorry Obama, it actually wasn’t Islam.)

“All of these ‘isms,’ atheism, agnosticism, humanism, post modernism, materialism, idealism, naturalism– what is all that about?" Roberston asked. "Trying to get around what I just told you. Your founding Fathers were godly. So am I. You say, Phil, you’re like George Washington. You’re like Thomas Jefferson. Yeah. I’m just saying they were godly. They founded the greatest nation on earth for crying out loud!”

Yes, Phil is polarizing, and I know some people are perplexed over the perceived “obsession” with the family.

Here’s what I think. These days, we rarely see anyone radically speak the truth and shamelessly talk about their faith in the political sphere. We've unfortunately grown used to slimy politicians and crooked leaders who shun religion (except for Islam, of course) and cry, "Separation of church and state OMG!!!!!!" without acknowledging that 1)That's not even in the constitution and 2) Religion and politics aren't equivalent to oil and water. Religion and faith in God was a HUGE part of our founding, and if you forget or ignore that, quite frankly, you're missing the mark. Forget the PC police. I'm a conservative chick who has a relationship with God, so why in the world would I ban Him from every single one of my political conversations? Yes, conservatism makes sense on its own. Heck, there's a whole atheist group here at CPAC, and I'm so glad they're here because we really need to rally together to make a difference instead of tearing each other apart. But we’ve grown to a place where it’s almost taboo to mention your faith in front of a political audience, and that's not cool.

Phil Robertson couldn’t give a crap less, and that's why so many people love him. 

Rev. Graham: America is 'Morally Crumbling Within ... We Have Turned Our Back on God'

(CNSNews.com) – Reverend Franklin Graham said he did not know whether President Barack Obama dislikes America, as “America’s Mayor” Rudy Giuliani stated last week, but Graham said it is true that Obama “defends Islam and chastises Christians,” denies the “religious freedoms” of those who oppose abortion and gay marriage, and added that our nation is “morally crumbling within” and that “we have turned our back on God.”

“Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani has taken a lot of heat from the media for his remark that he's not sure if President Obama really loves America,” said Rev. Graham in a Feb. 24 Facebook post.

“I don't know if that's true or not, but I do know that the president defends Islam and chastises Christians, rebukes our allies and befriends our enemies, and fully supports gay marriages and abortion but denies the religious freedoms of those who don't agree,” said the reverend, who oversees the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.

“Our nation is ridiculed abroad and morally crumbling within,” he said.  “We are in trouble. We have turned our back on God.”

At a private dinner gathering on Feb. 18 at the 21 Club in New York City, Giuliani, a Republican, said “I do not believe, and I know this is a horrible thing to say, but I do not believe that the president loves America.”

“He doesn’t love you. And he doesn’t love me. He wasn’t brought up the way you were brought up and I was brought up through love of this country.”

When asked about those comments on Feb. 20, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said, "It's sad to see when somebody who has attained a certain level of public stature and even admiration tarnishes that legacy so thoroughly."

"I don't take any joy or vindication or satisfaction from that," said Earnest.

Back on Feb. 13, speaking before an Iranian-American Community Symposium in Arizona, Giuliani referenced numerous acts of terrorism by radical Muslims, including the 9/11 attacks and the shooting slaughter at Ft. Hood, and stressed they all had one thing common.

“They have in common a movement the president of the United States will not recognize,” said Giuliani.  “They have been murdered, they have been slaughtered, they have been raped, they have been tortured, they have been beheaded, they have been burned by a movement that the president of the United States will not recognize.”

“What is wrong with him?” said Giuliani. “Is there no passion? Is there no passion for the lives of these innocent people? Is there no caring for them? Do you know what the slaughter at Fort Hood was described as? Workplace violence. Workplace violence.”

“This is a captain [Nidal Malik Hasan]  in the United States Army who had become a jihadist two years before, who was communicating with Afghanistan and Pakistan and Yemen,” said Giuliani.  “Doesn’t take a genius to figure out the cause for which he was murdering. He told us, ‘Allahu Akbar.’”

“But the president of the United States doesn’t see the connection,” said the former New York City mayor.  “Just the other day he called the slaughter of those Jewish people in France a random act. Mr. President, wake up! Come off the golf course. Come back on earth!”

Political Correctness Gone Mad: LGBTQ Wasn't Enough For Some People

The Alphabet Soup of Sexuality just got a whole lot more inclusive. Or just plain crazy.

According to this, Wesleyan University has extended the already-cumbersome LGBTQ acronym into the even more unwieldy LGBTTQQFAGPBDSM. Which stands for (deep breath) - “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Transsexual, Queer, Questioning, Flexual, Asexual, Genderf*ck, Polyamourous, Bondage/Disciple, Dominance/Submission, Sadism/Masochism.”

(I can already see a problem with that sequence of letters - starting with that "F" in the middle. Somebody's going to hear about this one).

So, Wesleyan has got every sexuality under the sun covered (unless something else gets invented). Yet, we have people upset about being called simply "men and women."

We are so doomed.

PC(USA) vs ECO

At a recent congregational meeting with the new denomination (ECO), there was several things said by the ECO representative that I was not totally thrilled with, but I have been a Presbyterian my whole life and find it hard to change.   As you might can tell I am not sure what I am going to do;  I have attended another local church a number of times and I like it a lot.   But then . . . . . . .   the bottom line in any event is that I need to leave the PC(USA)  as I do not like or support a lot of the decisions made at their last several General Assemblies.

Seen on Twitter – Bible vs Koran

As I read through the Bible and the Koran simultaneously it makes me love the Bible more and my heart to break for Muslims. The Bible is so personal and intimate "How sweet are your words to my taste" Ps 119:103. Whereas the Koran in harsh, constant references to Satan and hell fire. Scripture leads to sweet surrender from a God-love thing from within. Islam means "submission" by the sword if necessary. There a big difference between submission and surrender. I find sweet peace and joy in my surrender and no need to hate others who aren't where I am at.
